Isn't it time you start looking for a rigid fork, hdp_gmx???

hehe at this stage i dont think so :) i would like to go carbon and the strongest carbon fork i could find was max 97kg rider weight, i am 107kg with kit, need to shed some blubber first should be good by Jan i think  Edited by hdp_gmx

I have eventually joined the world of Single Speed. I have rebuilt my old team Mongoose. It's the third time the bike has come back to life. It may not be an original SS, but it works quite well. I've just finished a 3 day ride on the Wild Coast with it and loved the bike.

Now to get my entry in for World champs

A big thumbs up for first building up the bike, then doing a 3 day ride with her before just jumping and getting an entry in the SSWC 2012 .... there seems to be a bit of a trend (And I could be completely wrong with this assessment) that there are many riders entering the SSWC 2012 and then building up SS rides for that event only and not for the simple cause of just riding a SS.

You quite right Hairy. If it wasn't for SSWC, I probably wouldn't have done it. I've got say, i really did enjoy the bike, and looking forward to using it more often. Theres a 65km race on this weekend that I'm going to try.

First off, @ multisporter congrats and well done.

@Hairy, I agree with you fully here, the other question I also have to ask myself, is how serious are people really taking this SSWC event.

I reckon some are a little too serious about the whole thing, not realizing that it's more of a fun and party event than a serious race-face gathering.

My old GT avalanche that was Robbed of parts to build another bike has been reincarnated into a SS. Mostly from bit's and pieces after upgrades and scratching around in buckets - Thanks to Jason and Mark and Good to Go !

32 - 16 to start and I'll take it from there.

Jason missioned a plan for a tensioner, robbing a spring off a V brake and put the bike together for me.

Mark milled out a top cap on the lathe in the shop.
