Noob Question "How often and how to clean your MTB chain"

I clean my chain with a high-pressure cleaner after every ride. Takes less than a minute, requires no disassembly, no solvent and works like a charm. Some guys might disagree with cleaning the whole bike like that, but no probs with the chain!!

And... I only do wet-lube. Can't stand the squeaks after 50 km riding on dry lube

.......... But your problems will start when the freewheel, wheel bearings and BB grease has all been washed out and that ugly grinding noise starts

Another newbie question. Do you mean washing your bike with a high pressure cleaner is not good? Because yesterday I've started for the first time to spray my chain and cassette with clean green and rinse with high pressure machine. The hight pressure water seems like the best way to get all the mud off the bike, especially in those places you can't reach and a normal running hose wont take off once the mud has dried.

Personally I would not go mad with the Kleen Green near the hubs, and I would not use a pressure hose on anything other than a wheel barrow!

An expensive lesson on my 4x4 was when I 'hosed out' the alternator!

I think you could have a problem with water getting in all the wrong places!

wash my bike with washing powder! Light rinse with cold water to get most stuff off. Wash mostly after every ride. About every second wash I remove wheels to get inside those difficult to reach places. Have a big soft brush to wash cassette. Wash disk breaks with dish washing liquid every month, take the pads out and give them a good scrub. Take of chain and wash in hot dish washing hot water for 1 minute then dry.(use power link)lube with squirt after dried. regrease hubs and BB and headset regularly ...every 2 months. Lube pivots on derailures with 3 in 1 oil. Grease all bolts every 2 months.

They probably getting subsidized by the BB and Bearing and hub manufacturers, it keeps them in business. :D

You can clean you bike with a HP waterjet. Just keep it away from the BB, hubs, headset and fork seals.

...rear shock, brake calipers, brake levers, shift levers.....

Here's a heads up. Do it by hand, it's not a DirtBike, it's just a dirty bike.

Clean Green is a de-greaser, ie. it REMOVES dirt and GREASE. Now where do you find important greasy areas on a bike???

Drop of sunlight, warm water, soft sponge, soft brush, toothbrush and some love and patience.

Finish Line or Squirt....all the others are posers.

BOOM!

Um sunlight is also a degreaser!

and there is only one lube, rock n roller gold! The rest are just chain grease!

For dishes yes!

Personally I don't eat a tub of Motorex for dinner, so Lever did not take into account Industrial Grease when designing Sunlight.

I did say a drop, not the bottle.

Rock n roller gold - never heard of it, bottom of the pile.
