MOYO'S WTF??

What is the use of having a restaurant if customers cant eat there? Met my family after a ride in Groenies for breakfast this morning as we do from time to time. Got there at 08:45 just to be told they only open at 10:00. My wife being a diabetic needs to eat before 09:00 so she does not go "LOW". When and why would they change their times? This is not the first time I have been dissapointed by them. In August I had a international VIP client I booked to take him to Moyos for a traditional African meal. When we got there, the waitress says to me they are under staffed and when we order it will take upto an hour and a half before we get our food. Thats it, no more supporting this restaurant.Moyos you pissed me off... go get stuffed!!!!

Your comments don't surprise me. They are a badly run business. Each Moyo is part owned by the guy who started the restaurant and other investors, so although they trade as Moyo, they are all separate. The Groenkloof one in particular is in the dwang and they can't pay suppliers. I know, i was one of them. They grew too fast and banked on the World Cup bringing a huge cash injection to clean up their debts and capital investments. That idea backfired (not just for them) , so now they are really battling.

You wanted to take him for a REAL Efrican meal, I guess you succeeded 100%. Did you find in hairs in your food? That would have made it then the ultimate Efrecan ex-peree-ence

I agree 100%. In that when the Cape Town Moya @ Spier first opened and few knew about it, it rocked! One year later I asked the waiter if I should pay extra for the sand in my salad. My sarcasm was lost on him. (He was white so don't even try go there ok?)

There's a place in Gugs. Go there.

Shame to hear...I was there a couple of times after rides before the WC and the service / food was always excellent.

I've been into the kitchens at Moyos Zoo Lake several times and will not eat there again.

For an authentic African kitchen, you need to go no further...

We had out Xmas dinner there last year and they almost had no food. About 2 meat dishes, a few veggies and only one pudding.
