Hi guys,

So I went for a ride this afternoon and i experienced my first puncture with tubeless tyre s.. I got a nail in my back tyre...

So i pulled it out lost some air and put the plug in, tried to pump the tyre back up and I couldn't IS there a trick to this?

help!!!!

what tyres do you have on? are they tubeless tyres or did you have a conversion done from tubed tyres to tubeless?

Sorry for all the questions, but there can be a number of reasons why its not inflatting...

sounds like you broke the seal around the tires - sometimes a footpump will work otherwise you'll need to use a CO2 bomb, or get a little schrauder-prester converter (cheap - just a piece of metal) and pump up at the petrol station - should seal

handheld pump, stopped at the petrol station but I could not get the pump on :(

Tried now with my foot pump and it wont pump up!!!! :(

if it was sealed before then it should be ok to top it up with a footpump. handpumps are only effective in..oh never mind.

what probably happened is that you broke the seal when installing the plug. assume you still have stans inside, and have rolled the tyre around a few times. do the soapy water thing. get a bucket of very week dishliquie, and sponge/squees it where the bead and rim meet on both sides. you'll be able to see bubbles forming slowly from where the air is leaking. if it's only in a small area, then you can try hold that bit with one hand and pump with the other.

if it's coming out everywhere, then either start from scratch and seat it properly or just go to the garage(my first option if convenient)

Appreciate the input, running UST tyres on normal rims... Looks like alot of sealant came out....

Where can i get the converter?

Should i go buy sealant and try and just force it?

The best Solution for converting a normal non tubeless rim is to use a Cane Creek or Bontrager rim strip and valves. Then use a decent sealant like Zero Flats Zero Flats and you should be on your way, be mindful when using other types of sealants as they tend to coagulate when you use a bomb.

remove the valve in your rim strip, inflate till tyre seats ( you can then use a garage pump without an adapter I think) and just put the valve back in and inflate to your riding pressure.

You'll need to take co2 with you in future or put a tube in, handpump wont cut it.

Cool, going to buy some sealant now and try it again.

I worked out that my nozzle which my bombs connect to can actually screw on pretty well on the garage pump.. So Tonight Ill be giving that a go:)

Thanks for the input I will let you know of the result!

Good Monring,

So I thought I would give you an updae of my first experience with tubeless tyre fixing.

Friday night I took some sealant managed to get some in, bombed the tyre and all sorted

SO I pumped the tyre to 3 bar, just to see if it held its pressure, went out came back slept and in the morning. Tyre had dropped down to 1.5 bar

So I pumped the bad boy up again, went for a cycle, could feel tyre was losing pressure, but I road it out... Did you know you can ride a tubeless as low as 1.5 bar on the back ( I was amazed)

Anyway, got home pumped the tyre back up to 3 bar, left it for the night and sunday morning checked it before my ride.. AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE!!!!

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it.

TUBELESS IS PRETTY COOL!!!

aaawwww shoot!! The secret is out!! quickly - cover it up...we don't want everyone to know!! :D :D :D

That is just one of the beautifuladvantages of tubeless tyres...

lower pressure = increased rider comfort...
