The Thug slipped on a muddy wooden slatted bridge and fell onto some protruding rivets (hence the stitches). His carbon bars went in between the slats and snapped off. Ouch

That pic of IanJ says it all, muddy, muddy, muddy, i stopped after 4 laps as nothing on my bike worked from the gears to the brakes.

In dry conditions i think the single track would be magic to ride.

Loads of fun' date=' would love to go ride that course in better conditions.

Note to self...Maxxix crossmarks does not work in mud...at all...

Here's the pic. Ignore the straight line, thats not me taking a short cut, i pressed the stop button by mistake on one of my tumbles and it was too muddy to see the screen, i only noticed it when i got to the lap start and cleaned it.

Sorry holy roller, my garmin has gone back to Avnic. It didn't like the rain last week Tuesday Ouch.

I think most of the route is private land but I am sure that after all the effort that went into building the track they will open it up some times. I suppose Fritz Pienaar would know.

As a non technical MTB rider I was really out of my depth there but what fun. I would also love to go back and ride it again in drier conditions.

Also using the school as a venue was a brilliant idea, plenty of places for people to shelter from the rain and proper toilet facilities, would have been nice to have some showers though.

All in all it was well organised with lots of work going into the course, I will be back Clap.

I agree, days like Saturday are only fun when you have a good bunch of buddies with you. Thanks to all for the support Clap.

Echo that. Must mention on the roadie vs MTB'er idea mentioned on the previuos thread, most MTB'ers had windbreakers and arm warmers while roadies did not.  Now who's the toughies LOL
