Cycling 480km for charity within 24 hours. Read the article in the December copy of Bicycling. Page 33 I think.

the Johan Botha (SA 20/20 Cricket Captain) Cycle For Charity. Good buddy of mine, every year myself and a few mutual mates support him in the cycle. Physically its not very tough, but mentally it gets to you to go out at 2am in the morning for another "session" as we call it.

Is it open to interested parties perhaps? From where to where?

Anybody can join. Being a fund raiser, if you can bring your wallet around so much the better, but not required. Moral support is worth ALLOT. If you know PE, you'll know the course. We just do laps around St. Georges park, the whole time. Its a 2.1km circular loop, so roughly 228 or so laps.

Holy cr@p, that's a serious amount of going in circles!!! Must take a serious toll on your mind after a while! Very well done for doing that kind of distance under those circumstances!!!
