mallo Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The young ladies are all SA champs in their age categories and multiple champs in the tours they took part in 2009 and 2010 season  Watch the mature ladies from Gauteng North give stick to some of the younger teams. I am sure Anriette will be matching many a man during the year if she sticks to her game plan as she did in the super vets series
darkhorse Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Old Anriette will probably win everything. She is the only lady that can suck wheel properly. She has proved it several times in the Argus. Its a shame that ladies racing has come to a point where the ladies get discarded into the mens group. I am an avid follower or ladies cycling and really enjoy standing at the start line next to the pro ladies. At least I get to see them up close before they ride off into the distance :-(

But there are not enough ladies riding at the top level to justify a bunch of their own.

Just wonder how team tactics will work going forward ....will it be every rider for herself?

There are def enough to race in a bunch of thier own and the non pro ladies also get to mix it up with the pro's if they have the ability. Now, the teams are limited to 4-6 riders and the top amature riders have no way of been noticed by teams.
mallo Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 darkhorse the younger riders are been noticed hence MTN has given four of them a ride for 2011 not in the squad but directly into the team.Amoryn our ladies need to step up to the likes of Anriette Cherise Robyn etc These ladies put in the time and effort to be where they are hence the podium on a regular basis an example is Cherise riding the the rain the past 10 days whilst Anriette Lizanne Robyn Charlotte Marie and working their butts of in the PE crits this past week.
