Well then it's a straight forward price issue - they are both pretty similar, and probably come from neighboring factories on Tapie high street in Taiwan ...

Unless you're a typical pretentious type, then go with the brand that has more perceived cachet in your head. The blokes here will be more than willing to add to the marketing crap already in your muddled head.

R400 price difference but they say the technology is newer on the Giant. But the Scott is a prettier looking bike?

Go for the one that "talks" to you. i.e, the one that grabs your attention and fancy most. Much easier to ride on a bike you like, makes you want to ride it more and more often.

Johan, you need to get your facts correct as all Scotts now have replaceable dropouts and the 2011 CR all come with the new SDS frame technology.I am sure with your vast knowledge you will work out what SDS stands for.

And a good morning to you too David. Thanks for informing me that Scott finally realised that a replaceable hanger is a good idea. I still feel sorry for all those victims of the permanent hanger frames though.

SDS - Super Duper ****?

I give up, what does it stand for? It is very important to know all these abbreviations.

This is the best one I found:

Subaru Diagnostic System, computer based scan tool and diagnostic information unit for Subaru automobiles, coupled with the Subaru Select Monitor III scan tool
