I've only used XTR, PG991 for short while, then switched to entry level chains because it made more sense financially... PC951, HG53, HG73... Wippermann 900 (terrible) With regular lubing and cleaning, I get about 1500 to 1800km per chain riding offroad only, before I reach 1/16" stretch... What are you using? MTB or Road... Mackie Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 XTR for me, only cos I got them cheaply, firts one did only 800kays and the secon is sitting on 500 and going ok, lokks like I wil get about 1200kays fropm it, but it seems rand/value XT is still the best way to go.But chain wear and durability is very subjective, I am heavy and am not very gentle on the drive train and wher I do 90% of my riding (Holla Trails in Ballito) it's very muddy and sharp up and downs, I find Holla quite tough on the drive train.
