One is a "wind" trainer and the other a "fluid" trainer. The fluid trainer is the better as it does not make a lot of noise. It can also adjust for more effort. Remeber to get a special training wheel as these jobbies eat up normal tyres. Continental makes the yellow IDT wheel. I think both are made by Tacx

Mr Legs Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) I have a cycleops,fluid, almost silent, the harder you pedal, the more resistance it produces, about R 2800,00 from Andrew M's crowd, BUT be warned it is super boring. Tjokkits Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 not sure how much you are planning to spend but my Tacx Fortuis is the best investment ive made, its the one where you can upload videos (even the argus and now the ride between gordons bay/hermanus) its as close to a real road ride you will get indoors. so it cost a lot plus you need a PC too but mine paid itself back twice over already
