If you have a Cyclosport licence, (like me), you can ride kaalgat.. and its with-in the rules. but only in the PPA Funrides and PPA League.

But you cannot ride Province Champs or SA's with a cyclo licence. You need a FULL LICENENCE and you must wear whats on that piece of plastiek.

Do you have options for winter and summer gear ? Kaalgat in winter is not fun !!! What happens if fasion changes ? We are roadies after all and do not wanna look like a bunch of dorks because the color of our kit does not match the color of our new bartape

u dont have to wear your sponsored kit or whats stated on your license. u can wear neutral kit i.e. kit without any branding ie kaalgat.

My understanding is that If you are riding in a licensed bunch, i.e. Elite's, Vets 30-39, Licensed Ladies or whatever Licensed group you are racing in, You have to race with the Kit that is registered on your License, even if you have a Cyclosport License.

One of the problems is the cost that a sponsor has to pay the SACF to be an "official" sponsor.  In the PPA league where the sponsorship is small, if the sponsor was to go the correct route and apply through the SACF then there would be no money left to give the riders. (Poison can you clarify the costs involved with registering a sponsor with the SACF)

So the best bet is to have a Cyclosport license and use all the money for the riders' kit entries etc.  but then of course you can't ride WP or SA champs.

Crux, cyclosport licenses dont show required kit.

you can ride in any kit with that licence. The only people that will be upset is if you are a "rider" who are sponsered or ride in a sponsered team.

Than your team mates or the sponser can bliksem you, but the CSA and PPA can do nothing about it.

Ok, numbers, I heard that Daikin team members had to pay CSA/WPCA about R1000 per kit x-tra to allow their riders to ride on SA's in Daikin kit.

Those guys are all Harmony club members, but they want to ride in Daikin colors on SA's

We had to pay the same thing to CSA to let the guys ride in our pink kit Pops

I speak under correction here, but last I heard an individual rider contract cost R550 per rider and when you register as a "team" with CSA then it can be up to R2000 per rider.

But I will get the correct info for you from CSA.

I think it is fair to ride in club kit on your license. We have problems at our club as well.We have organized rides six days a week, discount at the LBS  for members and a whole lot of other benefits.Come race day we still have members that pitch in other kit.For us it is about branding and promoting our club. This you only get at the bigger races. So why must someone rely on the help and support during the week and on race day pitch in different kit?
