Speaking of this program. What time and what channel will I find it on?

Sundays on SABC2 officially at 2:30, however expect it anywhere between 2 and 3pm. It has the odd interesting insert, but nothing to shout about. It is presented by Johnny Koen.

Helmets may not be the only part of cycling safety, but they are important, very important. People look up to people like Phil Ligett and he should be setting an example. The fact that it was an organised ride with a safety vehicle on the safest road in SA means nothing. Accidents happen anywhere.

In Europe its not such a big deal to ride on the road with a helmet (recreationally or commuting) so no need to get ur koeksisters in a knot.

 

Did watch same program, sies it's bad. That insert added absolutely no value to the issue of safety for cyclists on the roads.

We are not in Europe. In SA, the law says wear a helmet, Mr Liggett should have the decency to respect our laws, as a visitor to our country. Chop.

Point remains: helmets are about personal safety, are a good idea but much bigger issues wrt road safety for cyclists here in SA.

Once upon a time, in a country thought to be fair there was a president who went riding without a helmet. He took a cold shower afterwards and lived for ever after...
