Inusc Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Hi I couldn't find out in other post how long shimano's freebody warranty is at other post!I bought and XT wheelset less than four months ago and the freebody just broke today Do you think it would still be under warranty?I bought it at and LBSand did less than 1000km's??

I'm in the market for UST rims and until now were looking at the XT M775 for R3000 from CWC. Any advice for other UST rims in that price range? other option is crank bro cobalt for 5500? thats a bit high tough ...help???

Had a bad experience many years ago and they eventually pinned the faulty equipment on me.....Nice. Never bought a single Shimano thing ever again in my LIFE!! Save yourself some time and frustration and just get a new Hub. DT Swiss, Chris King etc. Good luck though!!!!!

Take it back to the LBS and let them sort it out. If you did not try to fix it yourself or abuse it there should not be a problem. Warranties are normally not paid or honoured if they can prove the owner tampered or abused. Sorry BigH, maar so groot Shimano fan soos wat ek is, stem ek saam met Spinnekop. Ek het 'n 105 groupset gehad en die freewheel of the hub het na 3 maande ingegee. Shimano het my 'n pit gedruk en gesê daar is nie 'n waarborg of wear en tear dele nie. Ek moes 'n nuwe een koop en die een het toe meer as 15 000km gehou. Ek dink die oorspronklike een was maar net laat op 'n Vrydag middag gemaak.

Fiets winkel het net die wiel gespin en Shimano laat weet. Ek het eers laas jaar met my Ultegra aan my fietse begin werk en die was ontrent 8 jaar gelede.

Ek het al 4 keer ge upgrade ens en hulle kon maklik 'n ou R100k'tjies uit my gemaak het die afgelope 12 jaar maar instede verkies het om 'n R500 se lever nie onder waarborg te vervang nie. Self herstel? ($%*($% tog...nie eers SHIMANO SELF kan 'n STI lever herstel nie, hoekom sal ek nog AMPER probeer..... Losers!Wys jou net hoe stupid moet die ouens dan wees as hulle "vermoed of dink" ek het die ding probeer peuter....shame. Lang storie kort en op onderwerp. Hierdie ou is geskroef! As die "Shimano noodspan" nie hierdie goed op die Hub lees en hom GENADIG gaan wees nie, sal die normale Shimano rep net 'n briefie vir hom stuur en se dis sy skuld.Oom weet mos...bike machanics weet ALS en die verbruiker weet NIKS.

Shimano 1 2 and 3 years on different components http://bike.shimano.com/publish/content/global_cycle/en/us/index/tech_support/warranty3.html kemperkkernoglia 2 3 and 4 years http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/garanzia/index.jsp Sram 2 years http://www.sram.com/_media/pdf/warranty/sramwarranty2009.pdf All have the original owner clause, proof of purchase, wear and tear and no tampering.... spesiaal vir spaaidie!!!!!! I did not read the fine print but not one is better than the other. I would suggest that somebody phone Stephen at Cool Heat and tell him to look at what is being written

Mojoman Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I am on my 3rd freehub body on cheap 475 hubs (done near on 5000km now). The part is R200 odd. Wheels are now a year old.I will also consider another hub when this one finally dies on me.
