It was my first Fast One. Know they changed the rout from last year. I was expecting it to b faster than it was. Some of my mates said it is all downhill.. Did i miss the downhill, because i noticed i was going up a lot more than down!

Traffic was a nightmare!

Manage to do a 2:55 in the end.

What was your experience?

DNF :(

Had an awesome start with the racing tandems - some great attacking, chasing and counter-attacking until at 35kms we punctured.

I then found out I had forgotten to replace the tube and bomb from the last time we rode and got a puncture. We then had to wait for someone to give us a tube and limped home in time to watch the elites finish...

The route up to there was great tandem territory with a little gutter wind to make things interesting.

Awesome ride from the Cycle Lab U23 team who got a second after the launch of the team on Friday night!!!

It seemed like a good race, but the organisation at the start was taking strain. The access road through the mud was a disaster. Luckily I had a 4x4 so it wasn't a problem, but quite a few cars got stuck.

Something to look forward to being better organised next year!

I enjoyed the race. Preferred the old route...but accept it was a logistical nightmare.

Saw a few really nasty accidents which always puts a dampner on it!

Agreed, getting to the parking was a pain in the arse! I too have a 4 x 4, but would've been a bit miff if I didn't.

I was in C group, and they let the group go before half of us were even on the start line. So lost the leaders straight from the get go. Bit disappointing to say the least.

Still had fun...as always :D

Hard Luck Jeremy,

It was certainly a lot tougher than the "old" Fast One.

I was hoping for much the same in terms of profile or at least speed on the route. With that in mind, I was aiming at a 2:30, in the end, all i could manage was a 2:43, I'm not upset though, i did drop back to ride with a friend in B, and the B pace was lacking in some parts, but good overall.

Well done to organizers for ensuring the potholes were well marked.

Thumbs down to the organizers for horrific parking arrangements, what a nightmare!!!!!!

Any one have the winning time?

I didn`t have a 4x4..haha - fun in the mud...rode in the new Cat2 bunch...bunch crashed 5 km from the finish & took me down, bunches just to big for these roads & the amount of traffic? anyone know who won it?

Hit a pothole inside of the 20km to go mark, punctured BOTH tubes ( my 1st puncture ever in a race) and then realised that I had one 50mm stem valve and one 38mm stem valve tube with me, which wasn't going to work with my 58mm deep sections... Another unlucky cyclist punctured on the same pothole about 10 minutes later and was happy to swap tubes with me so I could get on my way. I didn't get his name, but thanks, it's great that the camaraderie between cyclists is still there, I will return the favour one day!

Oh and managed a 3:18.

Crap parking arrangements with loads of people getting stuck.

Wasn't happy to cruse in the mud with the car.

Starting pens were a huge mess as well.

Organisers need to work on this if they want to keep this one alive.

Also had bad luck with a puncture 20km from the finish hitting a pothole and the inevitable snakebite!!!

The race did not leeve me with that warm fuzzy feeling!

Never even got to a parking area with mud. We were diverted down a side road to park in. Parked, rushed to get ready to go to the start. looked for the official to give directions to where the start was but he had disapeared. Had to guess which way to go. Looked like the Dakar rally with cyclist going in both directions LOL. Fortunately went in the right direction just to get to the chaos at the start. Bunches were mixed due to bad, very bad parking arrangements. Please organisers, tell us if the parking is a problem. I allowed a hour to park get ready and get to the start. Needless to say I was late.

The organisation on the route was good  My wife only complained that 2 waterpoints in the heat wasnt enough. AND NO WATER AT THE FINISH. Think of the diabetics aswell please.

WOW Times are up already Amazing Racetec

The parking was a disaster, we left Alberton at 5:30 and missed our start at 7am

Loved the race though, something about racing a road bike :D

It took me half the time to drive the last 1.5km and park that it did for me to drive from Fourways! The venue was rubbish! The start was totally chaotic. I think the organisers have a huge amount of fix up to do for next year! Marshalling was excellent though. A bunch had motorbikes and a police van.
