  1. bwahahaha! it's funny reading all these posts. U guys are so serious and on a hair trigger. It's classic. Dangle, I'd be happy to show you what real riding is some time.
  2. Helmets should go down as protective equipment. Should have challenged that then.
  3. we all ride bikes, so thats the common denominator. from there I see the divide: - girls who ride (always a pleasure!) - guys who smuggle nuts in lycra and shave their legs, cream bums etc. - people who wear normal, unoffensive clothes and try to actually ride properly. - armchair warriors who don't ride at all but dig the sport. - Chuck norris hero wannabe racer who think they are hardcore, but cry when called out, then leave the hub, and come back the next day.
  4. Well, you'll look even more of an arse if you face plant a pine tree on one of those DH's Why not just strap the full face to your pack for the road up? Why would you need a helmet riding up a fire road? Also, nobody will think any different of you what helmet you choose to wear. Rather, if you are trying stuff (jumps, railing etc) just protect yourself. I even see dudes up there with jeans, t-shirt and a full face. Another option is this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=58789
  5. Hey I'd love to read some of these scientific tests on this. Please provide some links.
  6. Here's where the problem starts.
  7. LOL, reading this now yes it does seem like that. It's not true. If a Chuck Norris hero racer wannabe (insert name here) tells me to move off the track I'm known to get nasty. It doesn't happen often mind you.
  8. No, it makes sense what you're saying. It would explain all the stuff I read about Leatts injuring spines from the brace pressing against it on certain impacts. I don't use one. Would it be wise to try one out? At the moment I use a normal CF Giro Remedy.
  9. I've never paid 40% duties on helmets from CRC (bought many), just the usual. My last full face I paid 60% less from CRC than the LBS. Support the LBS? Hang on, don't you work for a LBS? and are you not a minor? Neeeeeext
  10. Really? I was always under the impression it helped for compression too? My bad. I stand corrected.
  11. Rubbish! I never race. I ride hard daily. I don't know or care how far as I don't need a computer on my bike. I have lots of fun riding, I do jumps, downhill, trails, anything. I let people going down past, say hello to anyone and everyone. I stop to help those in need of a hand. I consider myself a cyclist. Anyone who thinks I'm not because they have some 'Elite' status I feel sorry for. Some people don't need to race each other, some do. Whatever floats your boat. Even someone who just rides to work on an old farm bike is a cyclist. People really are self righteous. Wow.
  12. A neck brace is to stop compression on your spine. Image if you were to crash really hard on the top of your head. Your head would push down hard on your spine. The brace like the Leatt transfers this compression onto your shoulders rather. But yes, a fullface helmet is a big step up in safety from the normal XC lid. It's a good step forward to being safer. (ps - CRC is the way to go)
  13. What makes someone an "actual cyclist"?
  14. It's kinda the same as going "my girlfriend bought me these panties" Just saying
  15. bwhaha! MJ, mount it next to the Chuck Norris sticker
  16. Plenty of calves this side mate, just no need to wipe cream in my crack and shave like a girl.
  17. This thread should then be changed to: The "strange GAY things cycling has done to your body"
  18. I worked hard to get my bike as filthy as possible. I'd take great offence to an LBS cleaning it. Also, if you use a speedometer you are not going fast enough or you are too serious. Fixing bikes is a fun part of riding them, and most of use love working on our bikes. I trust my bike because I know it like the back of my hand.
  19. Just fix your bike yourself. The bicycle is hardly rocket science to work on. Very simple mechanics, and you need very few tools to do it. Even suspension. I don't trust these bike shop 'mechanics'. Too many hacks
  20. MJ, the seriously serious, hardcore racer hero. "OUTA MY WAY BWOY"
  21. There, I fixed it for you.
  22. Hi Pornstar, I'm not a roadie, but I can appreciate an amazing piece of engineering when I see one. What does a bike like that cost?
  23. Exactly, just state your intentions and go for it. MJ likes to tell people what they should do. I wouldn't move for him, in fact I'd slow down. There's always some Chuck Norris hero wannabe out there.
  24. I love my Reverb and haven't had a single issue. It's what I'd expect from Rockshox
  25. Here's exactly what I hate about XC races. MJ, what gives you the right to order others around? READ what you wrote there. "Keep left when you can please". Yay, what a hero. I wouldn't budge an inch for you.
