  1. Worst advice I've ever read. Surgery should be the LAST thing you do. Firstly, if cycling aggravates your back, then STOP cycling. Your health is worth more than riding a bike. You will need to strengthen your core and help your body to help itself. I'm really not sure if a gym program is the best bet here. Have you tried pilates? I have a friend who suffered a similar thing as you, he saved his back with pilates. It's non evasive, and is designed this way. Check it out before you go under a knife. You can't go back from that.

  3. Poked my head in to the comp yesterday. Firstly, NO Red Bull Girls at all. Poor from Red Bull if you ask me Walked the track a bit, it looked good. Not really 'urban', as it ended at the high school, which is just off the Signal Hill trails. It's possibly just too difficult to secure a proper urban route in the city, and unlike Mexico we don't have buildings all the way up our hills. Trail went through some of the usual spots on the hill including the stump jumps. Saw one fella really wipe out there (ouch!). Not a bad turnout and there was a great festive vibe. I missed the prize giving though, so please post the results for Juniors, Seniors, Girls, Speed Trap (although I'm assuming Potgieter won the seniors as he was bliksem fast). Well done to the organisers. It's really cool to see this kind of effort going in. The sport is small, and events like this hopefully help it to grow a bit.
  4. Not really, garage bands at least have raw energy. That's what I love about music. This Coldplay song is banal and lifeless. It's really boring. They've done better in the past. This is just going through the motions, pleasing the masses and their label. Hardly being creative at all. Even the video is proof of this. It's a boring, done to death concept, says nothing, does nothing. It's entertainment, not art. From a band with this much money and time on their hands I'd expect so much more.
  5. Absolute load of shite as a song. Total drivel, phonetic rambling saying nothing. Pity. Oh, the elephant suit idea is a joke as well. These guys could do better, and they have.
  6. Jacques, phone around in JHB 'cos I'm sure some bike shops will have bags to rent. Makes a huge diffs in travelling with a bike. Also, remove your rear deraileur if you can. Cunks of polystyrene can be used between forks, etc.
  7. These guys only use the very latest in high tech monkey wrenches, bent old screwdrivers and old claw hammers held together with insulation tape. They're top notch, admittedly, the notch is at the bottom, but then, there is a Wimpy nearby.
  8. reading this makes me deeply sad.
  9. Oh so that's a good enough excuse to be poorly treated as customers then? It's attitudes like this that keeps us where we are. What's wrong with questioning things, demanding better service, voting with our feet?? Most of us are doing this already (and I'm sure you are too) by buying from CRC. Every time I deal with CWC I'm reminded why it's better to just ship what I need in from the UK rather. Your view is that its crap to complain about this. I think the opposite. It's important. If CWC was my shop, and I had an opportunity to see what people think of my service, I'd be onto a case like this. The number one killer of a retail store is bad staff. They are the link between the customer and the goods. Normally they are untrained, underpaid or a bit of both. Go hang out in the 'states for a bit and see what being well treated as a customer is like.
  10. Hey, can you lay off the racist stereotype insults firstly. How is the fact that they are Indian relevant?? To the OP, if they gave you an invoice for R19,995.00 and you paid for it, the bike was yours. You had this in black and white. You should have gone to the local police station and lodged a case actually, because them refusing to let you take delivery of your paid for property is criminal. Now if you took the guy's word (since you mentioned a power outage), and paid that money without an actual printed invoice, then you are a fool. I have edited your reply to remove the racist comments, and adjusted the member's waning status. - Weedmod
  11. I've had poor service from them for the last 2 years I've bought from them? The fact they have moved is no excuse for rudeness.
  12. haha, usually I don't, but it's easy to find his blog. I'm assuming this is him? http://mylesmayhewfinadvisor.wordpress.com/2011/05/17/introduction/
  13. I don't read the sarcasm in his post at all? Surely one would use an emoticon to display this ( or ) would do the trick, seeing that most of us don't personally know him and his mannerisms. Also, it's not the first time this guy has jumped to the defence of CWC. What's his involvement?
  14. His name and links to his personal blog are in his details. His surname is not Willemse. I do however think he has a vested interest in this company, either brokering for them, or he's trolling. Own up CptMayhem, what's your involvement here are are you being an antagonist?
  15. There seems to be a huge disconnect between their actual store and their online store. I think they are separate entities actually (?). I've had this exact issue with them before, they guy in the shop had none, and I found it on their website. Maybe someone from CWC can clarify? I still use them but only because they are cheaper. As I've said, I've had snotty service from them in the past. In general, South Africans have zero idea about the concept of good customer relations and service. It's standard. Their response to you was rude. The fact that it made you feel this way enough to share this story online means a lot. It's begging for a response from the shop. I'm not sure where you get off making a comment like this. I've checked out your blog etc, and judging your attitude from this comment and a few others, I'd say your intentions come across as insincere. I'd certainly never do business with someone with this attitude, and would hope my friends never crossed your path either. My broker understands the anguish caused by poor service, and that's why I have a broker. He's certainly never ever displayed this "sub-standard clients" attitude and has always placed the customer first. You must have some sort of vested interest in defending CWC like this. Fess up, what's your involvement there?
  16. Who the hell is this guy??? Hey 'Drongo' why are you stalking me? Bit of an obsession with what I'm saying?
  17. Regardless of their opinion on his civility, they promised a discount, and didn't deliver on that. They owe this person money now, and are not refunding him. They have not chosen to be the better person/company here, and in doing so they have lost much more than they could imagine. I agree the OP should have chosen his words wisely, and tried to be civil from the start, but I also understand how annoying these things can be, and with CWC's 'options' they presented to him, I'd be more than a little upset. You seem to believe they are saints to the cycling industry. I feel strongly otherwise.
  18. Actually, the OP has resorted to a forum to try and get to the bottom of this as they have been messing him around for 2 weeks now. It's not about being civil, it's about them giving him his money back. All they need are his CC details.
  19. Actually, your rant is justified. I'd also be peeved off if they did this to me. By law (new consumer protection act) they cannot just offer you those options. They have to refund your money asap, and if you choose EFT then they must comply. As a matter of principle, I'd report them to the authorities. Why should you be treated this way? In general I've usually had snotty service from CWC, be it from unhelpful staff not trying to source products for me, to one staff member refusing that there could be a product called fibre paste for friction setting. These guys also grey market goods, which undermines the suppliers. Their last little try to secure CRC locally was also an attempt to screw all of us.
  20. or you can just scream and order them to stay left rather
  21. you might be. hard to properly tell from these pictures though. i'd need a closer look.
  22. hey, eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
  23. it is tricky, and it takes a bit of a trained eye to spot it.
  24. ja, proper riding and real riding are very different. you'll notice it right away once I show you what to look for.
  25. very sad when people adopt ozzy slang and think it's cool to use it. it's not. at all. there's a reason we keep them far away on an island in the middle of the ocean.
