  2. the short answer is YES. we have been doing tubeless conversions for over 4 years with all the Schwalbe tyres. 1) have used Stans, latex and Schwalbe Doc Blue * 2) the side walls are NOT weak. they are 127EPI, much more than most other tyres. In our experience, the problem is with the tackiness of the sidewall rubber. While the tyre is still new (first few rides), the sidewall are very grippy and tend to hold onto objects rather than knock them out of the way. Once the tackiness is gone, this issue is solved. We suggest before the first ride that you rub sand or baby powder on the sidewalls to eliminate the tackiness. Alternatively, the Racing Ralph is availble with Snakeskin side wall protection. 3) Handing is very good esp the 26x2.25. Because it is a race tyre, weight reduction is a priority. therfore there is not as much rubber on these tyres. However it is a triple compound tyre with the centre blocks being made of the hardest of the compounds, so they do last quite well.? I see from the latest releases of other tyres in the range that training versions are avaialble (heavier versions with less technical compounds) I am sure there will be a Racing Ralph in this soon too.? *Schwalbe recommends the use of Doc Blue only

  4. Warranty Disclaimer - from the American Schwalbe site ?The use of any brand other than SCHWALBE’s “self-sealing” products and/or aftermarket “sealant” systems for the purpose of converting a non-tubeless tire to tubeless, used either on non-UST rims or UST rims, will void any warranty given by the tire manufacturer. ? ?The use of any brand other than SCHWALBE’s “self-sealing” products may over time degrade the interior wall of tires, especially non-tubeless tires, resulting in a blistering of the tread and surface layer on the exterior of the tire. This is not a manufacturing defect but the result of an incompatibility of the sealant with the rubber compound and therefore not considered a warranty issue. ?

  17. JPW#, like you , I am also over 80kg. I have experienced this burping when running the tyre at too low a pressure. The sidewalls indicate the minimum and maximum pressures to be used and should be strictly adhered to. as a rule of thumb, I like to add 0.2 bar to the minimum pressure indicated for every 10kg over 70kg
  18. Mark, we have been doing tubeless conversions on Schwalbe tyres for just over four years now - no problems. 2 things should be noted: - it is much easier when done on rims that conform to ERTRO standards - Schwalbe will not warranty a tyre that develops structural issues as a result of using "aggesssive" sealants. While many sealnt solutions work very well, they approve only their own sealant known as Doc Blue

  23. ......it's just you stock continuity is a big issue for me. It appears that Schwalbe is very focussed on the OEM market this year. There are so many bikes for 2009 being specced with Schwalbe tyres. About a year ago they were nearing 100% production capacity and it seems they have reached it with all the new OEM clients. I guess, as has happened with Shimano in the past, the AM clients will be supplied as soon as all the new bikes have been released. Our orders for these tyres are on their system, but delivery dates are still to be confirmed
