  1. I believe you can do any of the Allen Carr items (Course, Book, DVD, etc) as the message is the same. I just read the book as I found a PDF on the interwebs The method is very simple, but you need to go through all the motions (read, etc) before you will actually realize what is correct and what is wrong. There is a bit of bad psychology in "it is bad for your health, etc", but this is not any major topic. He dispels all myths like "It is a Habit". He explains why you must not take any medication, patches or any NRT's. He explains why cold turkey is the ONLY way. The bottom line is that he makes you realize that it is an ADDICTION to Nicotine. No different to any other addiction. Ask yourself the question "will I be happy and continue as is if addicted to Heroin"? While reading the book and smoking. I drag a puff, the I drag a puff of air and realized that I could not taste anything different. If your mind becomes clear, it is EASY. It was so easy that my wife still cannot understand how I could read a book and just stop. I stopped Cold and in the 6 months did not once had any craving. Check out this stats for some more motivation.
  2. Saturday at the Lionman, I was on exactly 6 months. After 25 years, it took long to really start feeling a difference. I believe I will only really see huge differences in about another 6 months. If you still on it, read the book from Allen Carr or PM me your email for a copy.
  3. Nope, I was in F batch and my bike is green. The commentators was chirping the most about the Pyga's. The only chirps that I got was every 5th person saying "Nice Bike". I had a Giant Anthem X 29er dual suss before and must say that nothing beats this suspension. Even though it was still set/pumped too hard, it outperformed the Giant by a country mile. It takes all the big bumps, but the most impressive was how it absorbed the small bumps. Going over graspolle is a breeze.
  4. I am doing the Lionman on Saturday as a first event with the Pyga. Will now specifically listen for chirps and report back.
  5. Some detail on how I did the cable routing. Thanks to Robodog for advise. Front Derailleur Cable mounted on left side to prevent rubbing from rear triangle during suspension travel. Rear Brake Hose. Rear Derailleur Cable. Rear Cable and Hose running below downtube.
  6. My Pyga Oneten29 build is complete. Ergofit done at Torq Zone.
  7. Maybe this help someone in the future. I have removed the air from the rear shock. The BB to Rear Axle length increase as the travel goes down and continues in a linear format. When the max travel is reached, it is exactly 3 pins on a chain longer. For a Hardtail the standard is. Route the chain over the two biggest sprockets while bypassing all derailleurs. Pull tight. If you use a master link, break at the red point. If not and you join the chain, break between red and blue. Chain length should be the shortest needed for maximum travel. At no load, the chain length is the shortest for the Oneten29. If you use a master link, break at the blue point as it is plus 2 pins and plus 3 pins for max travel, shortening to the nearest small link. If you join the chain without a master link, break at the yellow point. NB. The other end must be a small link as in the picture as a starting point.
  8. Can anyone assist with the correct determining of chain length for the Pyga 110. I am running 38/24 and 11/36. Does the standard method work where you take the chain over the 2 big sprockets while bypassing the rear derailleur, pull tight, add 2 links plus master link, work? Or does the BB to rear axle length increase during suspension travel, which warrants a "longer" chain?
  9. My assembly has begun
  10. Anyone with this type of frame? What have you found to be the best cable routing? Routing that will cause the least cable rub on the frame. It will be appreciated if you can take some detailed pics. I am only worried about the rear derailleur and rear brake. This frame now have option above and below the down tube.
  11. I need to select between 70mm and 60mm Stem with a 35mm OD 780mm Handlebar, which one would you say, I must start with?
  12. More detail please.
  13. With all the Pyga experts in this forum. What is the true meaning/origin/reason/whatever for the word PYGA? Why is the brand of the bike PYGA?
  14. Been to Enduro at Hakahana and saw that 90% was using Tyre Juice. Spoke to Paul at Epic Sports and they now just stock Tyre Juice. Hatfield Cycles recommend Tyre Juice. They even say "mix it with No Flats (that blue stuff)" Any Comments/Feedback? I am tired of Stans as I always end up with a rubber ball in a week. No bombs, no leaks, nothing!
  15. I am Afrikaans, but sure I understood when Pat and Hilton said. "The previous batch of 260 frames all went to dealers, you will need to phone dealers. Try ..., ... and ..." When I asked what if I don't get from a dealer? "The next shipment is due Sep/Oct, but we have huge lead times!" 3 weeks ago, shops told me "we get stock next week" Sweet blue nothing! 2 weeks ago, other shops told me "we get stock next week" Sweet blue nothing! Now shops say next week - BULL If you get hold of a frame, grab and run!
  16. Not sure who to believe. Shops indicate that they get stock next week. Pat and Hilton from Pyga indicated to me that they only expect the next shipment in September/ October. Who do you believe?
  17. What a pity for him. He is missing out on a TDF with 3 South Africans!
  18. 3 South Africans making history. Sorry Daryl and Robbie, but this is massive. No training in July, just being a couch potato.
  19. My Giant. It might be for sale when I start building my own (self-build) bike.
  20. It is a friend of mine that took his Girlfriend for her 1st MTB race, thus doing the 10k. He did not even see it coming! 5 seconds in and the next moment he was on deck and bike somewhere. This is terrible if you think what could have been. Both him and the zipper could have ended with broken necks! Totally irresponsible. He ended up with 2 broken ribs. He will be taking it further with Acrobranch. Although he does not directly blame the race organizers, they do need to take responsibility and ensure that these type of items do not happen.
  21. It was totally rediculous! The organization of this sucked big time. I started in A8 (8h10) and was forced to take the 30km loop as we apparently missed the cut-off. I had a look at the rules and it stated a cut-off at 10h30. I crossed the finish line a few minutes past 10am! WTF. Where is the fairness regarding the entry fee that you pay and the batch that you start in??? The best is that I stopped and the guy just refused that we proceed on the 55km route. How will the organizers know who was redirected vs someone that was really fast?
  22. Old school solid tires - extremely heavy!
  23. Mine seated immediately, but kept on loosing air. After a week it stopped lossing air. I ride them at 1,8 bar and if I check them after a week, they will now be at 1,7 bar. BrianMTB, I would have suggested doing the wax removal thing first! Maybe yours just has a very thick layer.
  24. The new Conti protection tyres are awesome! I have a set of 29er X-kings! Also struggled for about a week to get them to hold air with Stans. They have lot's of micro pinholes and I found it strange that Stans did not seal it immediately. Did research and Conti recommends that you use Conti-Seal (obviously!) it apparently seals the tires immediately. The new tires have a wax layer on the inside to extend shelf live! This wax works a bit against Stans! You must apparently use steelwool or something similar and give the insides a bit of a rub down to remove the wax and then you will not have problems. I only heard this after my week. Even without doing it, the tires will seal after about a week and then they are "bullet proof". Seams like it takes a week to dissolve this wax for Stans to start working!
