  1. New Karate kid was v cool actually Brought back memories... Just a pity he now does Kung Fu and not Karate...so it should be called the Kung Fu Kid Besides, they originated in different countries I believe (karate and kung fu that is).
  2. Maxxis Larsen TT was great...had it on the back, very few punctures and good grip on most surfaces I rode...gravel, forest loamy type soil and hard packed stuff.
  3. Guys...if we talking about grams, we must not refer to this as the weight... It is the mass, the weight is a vector and is measured in Newtons, and a direction needs to be specified (although with weight, a direction of towards the center of the earth is implied). Sorry...I have a thing for physics
  4. Yep...something I have been saying for a long time already is exactly that
  5. yeah...i watched a vid yesterday on Pinkbike.com http://www.pinkbike.com/news/tech-tuesday-bleeding-avid-brakes-2010.html V good vid this I think. Pretty simple process, but seems you need that little threaded bit at the end of the syringe
  6. Yeah, there are very many different types of those cleaners, all rated at different pressure. I stand corrected, but my dad and I used one a WHILE ago that was rated to 180 BAR...Now that thing was stupid...might cut your frame if held too close. But I see you can pick up "cheapies" at Game/Makro/etc that wont be nearly as high pressure... The velocity of the water as it leaves the nozzle however appears to drop off exponentially, so enev a very high pressure one can be used...but from further away of course Moral of the story...I say use it, but VERY carefully and test it first on something of similar hardness to your bike
  7. Come ride down in George and teach me a thing or two
  8. Sup guys. What pedals are you guys riding?Flat or clipped in?I was riding a set o DMR V8's...man those things are awesome, super grippy on your feet...and shins But alas I still never got shin guards :PNow I am riding some Crank Brothers Mallet 2's...they pretty rad I must say. I was k@k scared of riding with clips though and it still freaks me out a little.I reckon if I start dirt jumping though I'll swap back to the V8's :DWhat your guys view on pedals then?Anyhoo, just a random question.
  9. google earth man hehehe. I hear Tokai has some awesome trails/etc? I am sick of riding dirt road and ye olde standard XC track...That was even too easy on the short travel hard tail I have heard rumor about some good trail and DH track around Tyger Vally and Durbnville area?
  10. The boerewors curtain? By gf stays in Bellville across from Tyger Valley and I always wanna bring the bike with, but there is never time over a weekend to go explore to find places, so would be cool if you have any hints (maps...?) on where to go ride?
  11. You guys based mostly in Cape Town by the way? Would dig to join for a ride sometime...but also nothing too extreme as still learning, and bike is not exactly propper DH either
  12. First bike i bought while working at the American Fudge Factory back in 1998... It was AWESOME... I was paying it off like R50 a week...Then it got stolen! And I still owed like R900 on it And it was not specified on the insurance so they only paid out R900 ;( So no more bike ... sucks, but I loved that thing...
  13. Craig...dude, I am from PE too...where the hell do you ride DH there? I have been looking for some rad trail/DH type stuff but don't know where to look..The OLD DH course across from William Moffet PnP is trashed...Although I last saw it working over 10 years ago tbh... I don't do proper DH, but I am super keen to ride as technical stuff as possible so any hints as to where to ride would be sweet! What high school were you at? Born in 82? I was at Alex, also born 82 Chrs bro
  14. hahaha... Yeah, got a real PC back now So should be able to post tonight
  15. Yeah man, sounds great! I will give you a shout when I am back from my work trip We can hit a ride sometime
  16. hey man, i'd be keen to ride so drop me a line when you down there. I'll post links on Garmin connect website of the track as well, so pm me sometime and i'll reply. Just out of the country for a few weeks now, so might be slow to respond
  17. Hey guys, shot for the feedback i'll hopefully b able to post properly again in the week when i'm back in front of a real pc
  18. Yeah, tell me about it...there is already a lot of single track...but it is all just XC type...and that is fun, but not nearly as fun as a trail type single track could be ANd yeah, there is a lot of potential...Just gotta find peeps who are keen to join in the building I think we can just modify portions of existing track bu making more technical, freeride type routes which loop off then join back in, that way we don't have to build all new tracks initially, and we don't bugger up the existing track.
  19. Ah, thank you v much Edman Ya, I only though about that this morning...had it (the Forerunner 305) on the other mode because the bat only lasts 3.5 hrs on 1s intervals. But I think I will turn off the GPS receiver and just use the HR monitor...That should let it last through the night I hope Thanks for the advice about the CSV export, it would be useful to analyse the data in Excel. I could do some funky maths on it as well to see if there are any underlying patterns then
  20. Now that you mention it...my friend never noticed it either...but we sure as hell did when he randomly fell asleep on the floor while visiting us
  21. Hey Squier, thanks for the info, but I am pretty sure I don't have that ... thankfully. A couple o my friends have been diagnosed with it though. As far as I know nobody in the family has it and my BMI is hovering around 23, so am safe in that dep. Also, don't you occasionally wake up gasping for air? I am sometimes tired during the day...but that is usually after a late night, or when I have gone long periods without decent exercise
  22. Yeah, I do notice I am more restless in the morning from say around 5:30 when I get to that semi-awake and uncomfortable state... Wannabe, will be cool to see other people's graphs too, so I am looking forward to it. Does anybody know how to export the Heart Rate (or any other data) from the Garmin (or Sport Tracks) software into a table type format? Lol...I will wear it next time I am playing Counter Strike online...It would spike like crazy during a clan match Oh...yeah, living in George I get out of bed at 07:30 to get to work on time by 08:00 All 1.3 km away My resting HR is in the late 50's, around 58 or so. The average heart rate over the night was 60 bpm, but I think that is being distorted by those "spikes" where I am presumable turning over or something (dreaming of the blonde )
  23. Yeah, I am going for a good ride on Saturday in PE, so will monitor Sat night as well... But I think I am going to start monitoring this at least every second night...It might be pretty interesting
  24. Do feel a little tired in the morning.... As for a glitch...I get what you are saying, but then why does it stay constant over like 30 min? I was thinking the spikes could be when I turn over in the night and need to use muscles to do so I reckon... The average for the night is 60, but that is obscured by the "spikes". I would have to look at the mode, but don;t feel like extracting the data to Excel and analyzing it right now...
  25. lol lol... As usual...I can't remember
