  1. I could put this in a few different threads I guess but I haven't been as excited to watch something on TV as I am for this next weekend... Going to the show was just not a possibility, financially, but this will be a pretty decent substitute.
  2. Yes. Very odd line up. I contemplated making an effort to go to see Vedder.. but to be there all day for a 20 minute set? No...
  3. I felt for Eddie Vedder though. Trying to get a response from a Beyonce crowd. I hope he comes back with PJ one day though.
  4. From what I've seen and read on social media Karen and Theo (SNG) and Jesse, Johnny's son.
  5. Did you see Bob Geldof's appearance at FNB Sunday? Now THAT was cringe-worthy.
  6. I guess then his son who did this for him as a surprise with several people (like Ard, Karen, Arno, Zolani etc) whi are Clegg family friends was ill advised? Interesting. I thought it came from a good place and was well intended. Johnny has been very open about his fight with cancer and I think the SA music industry acknowledging his massive, massive contribution now while he is around to appreciate it means more to me than the cliched, obligatory posthumous tribute albums and concerts...
  7. Ditto. I have everything he has officially released, and when I tried to count I got up to around 50 shows that I've been to, from Juluka through to the Johnny Clegg Band. I was incredibly lucky to go backstage at a show in 2016 and spend time with him and Sipho. I had no idea Johnny was undergoing chemo at the time.
  8. Not better, no. The original is a bona fide classic. The whole Heat Dust & Dreams album is perfect. But this project is amazing. So many faces and voices. Having Dave Matthews and Peter Gabriel involved is pretty cool too. If you enjoyed the video, then this is a must watch. Johnny's reaction when they showed him this which he knew nothing of. The love and bond between Johnny and Jesse is also something special.
  9. Love TFF My favourite performance of theirs... Knebworth 1990 This band was toit like a toiger.
  10. So maybe this is the right opportunity for you to help this clueless moegoe and explain what the big 'thing' is about sock length in cycling... Asseblief.
  11. This is funnier to me than it should be.

    Who remembers?

I’m pretty sure quite a few females would lady-fap to Magnum back in his heyday, big ‘tache, hairy chest and all.
  13. I have a pretty similar story. And I originally submitted my E Filing on Sunday the 1st of July...
  14. Wow... My heart stopped a few times in that. Holy crap.

    Who remembers?

I loved the dog biscuits and the 'milkshake'. Was talking to some young interns here, I think the convo started about the John Steenhuisen not having a degree debacle. I said I also did not get a degree as when I finished matric my choice was the army or prison, effectively. They had no idea that we had conscription back then. It's apparently not part of the school syllabus so it was complete news to them.
  16. To quote Jason Isbell... Those were different days...
  17. Excellent series that, enjoyed season 1 and really enjoyed season 2.
  18. So speaking of Mahindra... Thoughts on Haval? I'm seeing more and more on the road. And they aren't the worst looking SUVs on the road... Anyone?
  19. Was anyone at this? Would have loved to see and hear the Hoonicorn up close but man those two ex WRC/WRX Polo's are incredible.
  20. To be honest, I had Showmax for several months and in a week I've watched more on Amazon than I did on Showmax... Edit to add I love Netflix. Still the best interface, IMO, and I love the quality of the original stuff they produce. Drama, comedy and doccie.
  21. Was offered a 3 month trial to Amazon Prime, so looking forward to new Grand Tour in January but discovered all the Seinfeld episodes so watching them from season 1 again... Still damn funny.
  22. Video not available...
  23. Apart from Martin (Cito) frontman from Wonderboom who posted that it was an incredible show, I've not seen anything. Ah, man. What a beautiful band! So much to love and learn. Too many good songs and they didn’t even play all of them. Those lyrics.
  24. This looks amazing. And no, its not live action, it is 100% CGI. The confusion, according to Twitter, comes from a US news agency confusing this with an upcoming live action remake of Aladdin, apparently and no one else has bothered to fact check. The last movie I saw in a theatre was the remake of Jungle Book. This might just get me back there.
