  1. Medication to dislodge and dissolve. Passing a kidney stone is k@k sore I don't recommend it. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  2. This......I helped man a waterpoint for the Peninsula Marathon and I was ashamed to call myself a cyclist. Big groups enjoying the partial road closure but forcing the runners who the road was managed for to the side. It was shocking. Some even hurling abuse because runners got in their way........... Sad. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  3. I've had that issue. I've found the cheaper thermostats don't have the little air relief wobbler in them. I've started using Hella or Echlin only. You also need to pay attention to how they are installed. If that valve is at the lowest point it will also cause headaches. I suppose if it is a hole it won't matter. The valve type must be at the highest point it can be in the housing or the air just will not come out. Lot's of systems also have bleed valves at the highest point of the cooling systems now to make life easier. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  4. Haven't heard anything about the corolla but the Verso's had terrible versions of the CVT that would put the car in limp home mode or leave you stranded up a hill in traffic. Its been a while since I checked out newer Toyota's the last two new cars we got are VW. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  5. Do not get Fords DSG equivalent that just ends in tears. They overheat in traffic. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  6. Don't get the DSG 1.4TSi combo if plan on keeping it for long. They seem to have the most problems. The 2.0l and DSG seems to play well together 200 000km on some of them and not even a clutch pack replacement. The 1.4's seem to eat a clutch pack at about 70 000 - 100 000km. CVT's are great but the ones from Nissan seem to die at just over 100 000km. Audis ones seem better but is moer expensive if valve bodies or the steel drive belt/chain goes. Toyotas CVTs overheated. For long term ownership a proper Auto or proper manual 'box is what I go for. If I'm only keeping it for 5-7 years DSG baby. Don't skip gearbox fluid changes and on the most part they last the life of the car. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk

  9. You actually want the anodising. Its a chemical reaction that hardens and coats the metal a few micrometers deep to prevent oxidation. Its more hardwearing and tougher than most other finishes like powder coat or paint. If you removing anodising you removing material. If you want it off either you get in there with some sandpaper or if you google there it a chemical cocktail you can mix up, take precautions like masks and gloves though. 13. The Wife and I stayed there for a few days and did a ride through Cape Columbine reserve, its gravel road lots of spots that is very corrugated and lots of spots where soft sand catches you out. It was a nice ride though. Visited the lighthouse on the ride. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  14. Congrats Michelle. I win anyway, I get to ride amazing trails. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk

  16. I often encounter dogs off lead on the greenbelt and Tokai forest. I must say most are very well behaved but you always get that one that is curious or misbehaved. Calling out or a bell a good while before coming up close behind seems to make them alot less unpredictable than blowing past, some get suprised and all sense drains from their brains. All that being said I'm always ready to defend myself when a wayward pup starts chase whether playful or not (owners always claim it's playful but I have seen snarling and teeth a few times before they listen to the owner). I'm a dog person myself and some dogs are very protective over owners and a bike coming close could trigger them. So for FS keep them on a lead in public places especially where there are other people, dogs, horses and bikes. If the dog I had was not on a leash the first time he met a horse I would have been in deep dwang. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  17. Holy moly what a comp, and I live 7km or a 10min cycle away from these awesome trails. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  18. If you looking for a decent entry level manual machine with frother. The Breville Cafe Venezia can be had for R3.5K. You will need a decent grinder to go with it though. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  19. Have you tried Caledonian cycles and Neil's Wheels? They had some stuff I looked everywhere for. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  20. My mate and I come off the trails today and popped into Trails and Tar for a coffee, my bike was filthy. I had to work this afternoon and I'm doing a longish road ride tomorrow, so the gents there relieved me of R100.00 and had a shiny bike waiting for me when I finished my coffee. I usually clean and lube the bikes myself but hey, once in a while it's nice to get it done and they did a great job. My wife asked if I had fitted new tyres when I got home. It's spotless. 21. I'm quite a handy chap and DIY almost everything. This roof lining thing though is a PITA. The amount of time it takes me to get the thing out then cleaning the old crap off, getting the foam backed material stuck on straight and evenly stretched and then the worst part, installing the thing without getting dirty marks on it. No thanks the pro's can handle this crap. I have done 1 ever, on a MK3 golf. It's likely my first and last. The material cost was 70% of what the auto trimmers charge so yeah, that stuff goes straight off to them. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
  22. My wife's Tazz was done at Mccarthy Auto Trimmers. Mine is going next. R1100.00. They have a mobile unit in JHB. That is for replacing the lining. The foam between the material and plastic perishes and is sags. You could use some spray glue and glue it straight onto the stiffener but it looks crap in my opinion. 23. Liptronics is the service agent for Breville. At least that's where my coffee machine ended up being repaired when taking it back to @Home. Sent from my SM-A510F using Tapatalk
