  4. On my popper you bridge the fan so it runs all the time and only the heating element is cycled with the switch. With this and a temp probe from my multi meter I was able to produce repeatable roasts!
  5. I used to use a modified popcorn popper - worked great! Now have a Gene cafe for Sample roasting, really great little home roaster!
  6. Coffee is way too much of a variable to be managed by a set profile on a super auto, they do an excellent job of making a consistently average cup of coffee. With a full manual machine and grinder the variables are always within your control. As the ambient temp changes so should your grind etc, shots are timed and extraction observed, shot too fast - sour shot too slow - over extracted and bitter. Even without going completely OCD with weighing every shot and timings etc you will get consistently great shots just by understanding the basic principles of coffee.
  7. A silvia or an oscar would be a great machine, you will not outgrow them very quickly. I am more of a Silvia person, but the oscar is its equal!
  8. Fully disagree. You will never be able to get the same or even similar shots out of a full auto as you would from a top of the line manual espresso machine. It is just not currently possible!
  9. It'll be gone by this afternoon so with a bit of luck you'll have it tomorrow!
  10. Probably Monday ready to ship!
  11. Wearing the first vintage watch I ever bought Unseen. As I opened it up when it arrived I realised the mistake I'd made. It was completely destroyed inside. Took a long time to find the specific omega quartz movement they used in here but we got it done in the end. Omega Seamaster 120 Calypso.
  12. We've just finished sampling (Friday) our microlot Guatemala and its gonna be a cracker!
  13. The Uganda is a mild coffee, works super well with Milk! It can also shine in an americano, double!
  14. I roasted and cupped our new Guatemala on Friday and I think its going to be a cracker! Waiting for it to degass is taking a lot out of me
  15. We have had some great times and people here on the hub... Been mentioned above but Burrys passing was huge and then Barrys passing.. Rouxtjies rules, which still stand today!
  16. Anton and I were just talking about this the other day... so weird it pops up here!
  17. Sorry for the late response, we had no power last night and no internet this morning! I responded to your PM, but ya thats it anything from the list!

  20. 10608 - 24 Oct 2009
  21. Once regular courier is up and running I will be sending some down!
  22. I may have mentioned this before, but a mate of mine has a mint condition 916. Almost no KM Full arrow kit (I believe it was transitional from termignoni and back) I dunno. Man I lust after that bike. It just sits in his studio. On display!
  23. Yeah, watched a series a few years ago of a guy who rebuilt an S2000 and used too much sealer on the sump.... Trashed. I used like a film of it on the gasket nothing came out! On this bike it calls for its use where the cable for the stator comes out, found some weird OEM "glue" on the inside, cleaned it all off!
  24. Managed to get around to fitting my new stator... pretty straight forward job.. No new gaskets in the country (surprise!)... Used the gray gasket maker on either side of the old gasket and made do. Running the old oil for a few days (will do some shopping etc on it this week) then fresh oil and filter.
