    Sign up for a smart shopper card and this entitled you to an earlier start I think people were expecting a much earlier start ... lol Was also a small discount on the entry fee

    The way pick an pay advertised their special entry is what got people upset Glad we done the 99er so we got seeded and will start earlier than the pnp "preferred" start time

    I think also the water restrictions puts off people and accommodation is massively expensive here in Cape Town I live here but wouldnt be able to afford accommodation here for a weekend

    I think it takes away that sense of accomplishment There is something about saying .... I completed the 109kms Everything in life is being toned down to suit the masses You wanna do the cycle tour....then git gud

    At first I was like what madness is this .... messing with tradition but then my wife said maybe this is good because those who take the 109 seriously will have a safer and clearer ride Those social riders can do the short route and not back up the riders who want to improve themselves on the 109
