josh - it was one of the BEST rides i've had there. we had the whole reserve to ourselves. the ride wasn't even muddy - for some or other reason mud don't cling to the bike if it's that wet the carpark was scary though .... if i was out when the rain started, the last thought would have been to rescue the car. we used the fountains-entrance - other side was closed because of the carpark-river. it's scary to see how powerful water is.

and, of course - a bikewash at the end of the ride.

the signage in groenkloof is clear ... no doubt what direction the bikes were supposed to go.

soon we were out of the floods and paddling pedaling sweet singletrack-rivers.

the last singletrack i've ridden is usually my favourite - it happened to be groenkloof on sunday. it rained a little bit on sunday. But i had a ride arranged, so i wasn't gonna miss a good ride. The parking lot was taken. So we parked on the side.

bosbok - see if it's possible to ride both. the bike will choose you.

BUT joberg2c DID mention that THERE'S will the the best singletrack out there ... so i reserve the right to chagne my opinion about 'best riding' till after joberg2c ... and for promises of 'best singletrack ever' i'm willing to take on a partner - even if it's kind of a 'blind date' ...

agree, an epic and an epic adventure ... keep the route the same, maybe slack the cut-offs.

maybe us cyclists need to wake up as well ... when we're in our cars - being more courteous to other drivers, not adding to the aggression out there - get up 5 minutes earlier in the mornings, so that i have a few minutes to spare to give someone else a chance ... it's my bit.

not by credit card it's on my bill. the power rates includes 2% levy and 2% municipal surcharge. this month: usage: 182 units at .49380 = 89.87 usage service charge 237.04 (excl vat)

yeah, saw it too a few months ago, and no-one could answer. that rate went up about the same percentage as the elec price some time last year. so my electricity bill was just over R400 last month. i'm paying 250 so that i can use 150. no incentive whatsoever to use less energy. am curious if this will go up again when the expected electricity charges go up.
