  1. yes we should. i wasn't there, neither was the sabc - we can only guess. roadcycling is unsafe, that's one of the many reasons why i prefer mountainbiking - but cyclists are traffic too. more than that - cyclists are humans too. so even if the were bunched up all over the place like what i sometimes see on the cradle-road (and i don't say they were) then they still are humans with families and dreams. lie on your hooter if you have to - don't just plough into them - what kind of a solution is that? if the sun was blinding the driver and he still overtook - if there was a tanker from the front, he would have been dead.
  2. i'll wear one too.
  3. when will they ever learn???? what will it take for us to learn to respect other people's lives? will we ever??
  4. Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead, Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves. ... The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good. - W H Auden
  5. this is so, so sad. and so unnecessary

  9. k, bigh, that bit i got the other rotors will be same size and will fit i was just wondering about the patterns, and the different pads that's being used on them. the hayes was running (and still is) on a shimano rotor, they work perfect - can't feel the difference between them, and the juicy's running on the juicy rotors, or the juicy's running on the shimano rotors. but if you look at the worn hayes pads, the corner seems like it's not used. haven't ridden the juicy's long enough (or through enough mud) to see a wear pattern. the ideal would be for the pad to wear off the same everywhere - so: - was the uneven wear the brake pad holders (do they have a name?) the was fitted wrong, or due to using shimano rotors with hayes brakes - and does it matter if the wear is uneven? - and it would be safe to assume that , as long as a rotor is same size and number of bolts, that it will work with any pads?
  10. take your time and enjoy the ride !
  11. want to order a derrailleur from CRC. it's SRAM X.o (will get the levers as well) .... i have no idea what cage length i need. it comes in long, medium and super-short. i assume it's not super-short (it looks a bit roadie-ish) - so do i need medium or long? it's a giant trance, i have Shimano XT on there, but nowhere on that cage do i find a length.
  12. Have juicy's on the dual, hayes on the hardtail. can interchange wheels without a problem. Now want to buy some pretty hope rotors - need to know if i'd be able to use them with the juicy's (mainly) and sometimes on the hayes. 160mm, 6 bolt. anyone want to share their experiences?
  13. let her decide .... let her ride the bike and see what feels best - the bike will choose her.
