  2. ride2rhodes, mands? some days might be closer to 13 hours than to 6 ... lots of peanut butter sarmies ... actually - double-portions of anything that looks remotely edible
  3. oooh yum, that bread is goooood - but only a 'bit' of peanut butter? how about 2 cm of it??
  4. nature's energy bars! got sugar, fibre, water AND they dont get squishy and all brown when they have to share storing space with a tube and a bomb and lube and some plugs.
  5. disk brakes. my v-brakes was fine and provided all the stopping power i needed. until one day at sabie extperience, boy those downhills were fun - but the guardian angels had to put in lots of overtime to keep me out of hospital. what do you want to use the hrm for? the pretty pictures? training on an indoor trainer or according to some or other program? whre do you ride your bike? in wet or mud? will you be doing sani2c or sabieX?
  6. awww ricky not you too what's it with hubbers and hospitals ..... good luck man, get well soon - holding thumbs for you for sani2c
  7. aaaaaw no man! ages ago when i was brand-new on the hub, i had some or other problem with my bike ... ian explained step by step what i should do - and then offered to look at the bike for me! his instructions was sufficient, so i never met him - but i still remember the hub as this friendly helpful place after that speedy recovery, bud! cat-i2010-01-07 14:58:32

  9. hehe schwynn i changed it to a christmas cat for the holiday season, and now i can't find the other one anywhere ....
  10. agteros - that will depend on what weatherman says. roadie-bikes aren't made for rain. mountainbikes, on the other hand ...
  11. mands you've had a name change? will see what weather does - if wet, then NF will be more fun than SBR. will be more fun anyway, cos it's dirt ... but wet mud is much more fun than wet tar.
  12. if you won't mind babysitting me on thos horrible climbs then i'll join too
  13. good grief! a whole new level of nutty-ness
  14. at work, researching flights to katmandu
  15. if you have only one bike, then MTB can do both road and dirt. Seems like this comes and goes in waves, though .... about 15 years ago when the argus first started bursting out of control, more people owned mountain bikes - my perception, anyway - everyone in my riding group had mountain bikes at the time, we had slicks on for january and feb, and as soon as argus was over, put the knobblies back on - might have had something to do with the fact taht i was in georger at the time, though later everyone seemed to want to go faster and at some stage i bought a roadie bike too, to be able to stay with the training-group .... when i joined the hub ages ago, my perception was that there were more roadies then everyone got scared of tar (i know i did) and rediscovered dirt.
  16. good luck, MJ!
  17. ... and all the spam??? what is THAT about???
