  2. I can SEE the cholesterol in the pic. I want one.
  3. I've been meaning to design and have printed a more compact light mount for the Giant Conduct system on my bike. 10 000km later and i still have not done it.

  7. let me re-phrase, will I look more of a dork?
  8. Reverted to good old Cyclemeter to record the ride on my phone, Exported to Strava and Garmin connect.
  9. Unplugged ride. 27.4km 1h01m. Normal loop around the airport. Garmin would not even turn on this morning. I'm hoping its just a case of did not charge because of loadshedding.
  10. Is it wrong that I really like the branded kit they have this year? will I look like a dork if I wear it a few years down the line ?
  11. A few cheaters - nothing. the problem comes in when its not policed and becomes the norm, then you have hundreds or more doing this, plus the inevitable train that slots in behind them pushing you further back the seeding field. Have you ever been seeded that far back ? Have you ever had to ride in the mid day heat or wind ? Its a very different race in the alphabet soup at the back
  12. I care. I've worked damned hard on my fitness to get a sub 4, some oke then comes along on an scooter and does a sub 3 without sweating, this same oke will probably also not disclose the motor assist part to his mates. The seeding and official times will not say it was an e-bike. More guys doing this will push me further back in the seeding index meaning later starts at the fun ride world champs. (B.T.W. I feel if you can do a sub3 on an e-bike you should be able to do the event on a normal bike) Yes its a fun ride, but at my level it is THE ride of the year, the one that I work towards every year. The guys in question make a mockery of the hard work I've put in. At what point does it then become more about the guy with the most money rather than the guy with the most fitness on the day ? I have no issues with e-bike being used with-in the confines of the latest set of rules, heck I suggested to my dad the other day to get one so we can ride together (if we do this I'll be riding with him rather than him riding with me if that makes sense).
  13. when they started building the new Leroy Merlin near my house I followed them on Social Media, in one post the boasted about all the parking available, so I asked if they could please provide secure parking for bicycles. Their response "we have plenty of parking available for you to use" Well guess what, when I dont feel like the effort of taking the car out but I need something quickly I now walk to Builders Warehouse.
  14. Thats where I work
  15. A few years back I did CTCT with my dad. Whilst suffering up Chappies we hugged the left, knowing we were going very slowly. Still some middle management prick came past us a few times (I think he must have stopped a couple of times because there was no way were passed anyone at our pace) shouting at us to hold our line and keep left. He was no second lapper, I get the feeling he struggled to do one lap, but still found the need to be an a$$
  16. I think the inperson thing is more to control the "have you been vaxed or are covid negative"
  17. Some old school bike porn
  18. I've been using my trainer with no power for about 20 years now,
  19. I'd just make sure the gennie has a reliable voltage regulator. not sure how sensitive the electronics are in a trainer? Although I guess the step down transformer of the trainer should take care of this
  20. my jaded opinion, someone pocketed the "band". Surely if the thing is advertised as coming with one then you should get it?
  21. I was once handing over a new car to a customer, one of the things I demonstrate is the operation of the foldable tow hitch. So I push the button for the towhitch, it popout from under the car and I clip it into place, as I pull on it I feel the entire thing moving. Techy in the workshop forgot to tighten the bolts before refitting the bumper. Fortunately it was a very understanding customer, so I simply took him through the rest of the car and made arrangements to bring the car to him once it had gone through workshop again.
  22. I had planned to do more, but the legs were having none of it today BTW, that’s some next level Strava stalking you did there.
  23. Started with Primrose Hill (strava segment says Fischers), then went halfway up that hill from Bruma to Silvia, stopped at the Caltex to wait for my mate, waited to long so went most of the way back down and then up with him. Klapped Linksfield drive after that, then did some touring around and back up Sylvia’s to my mates place at the top, heading home had to head over Old Makro hill. hit my PB on “fischers” and Sylvia’s though.
  24. Went looking for hills this morning. Found a hurt locker. Felt like the handbrake was up, even stopped at one point to check that the wheels were indeed spinning freely. I’m now properly broken.
  25. Yep, I do the loop in the opposite direction weekday mornings.
