  1. Dracula Bed, only ever used during the day, mint condition.
  2. I always used to ride with 2 spare tubes, 2 bombs, a pump, multi tool and a few other things for years, I then changed bikes and switched to tubeless, I feel so vulnerable and unprepared now with no spare tube on the bike.
  3. Those remind me so much of the first cycling shoes I ever used, they were my dads old shoes and the "cleat" for the tow hook pedals was nailed to the wooden sole of the shoe. Really cool
  4. On Sunday out on the Rietlvei trails we came up to a guy slumped over his bars, he was rather surprised when I asked if he was ok. I always think of what would happen if something were to happen to me, I'd be extremely grateful is someone stopped and assisted. When my dad was knocked off his bike even though he was able to stand up there was no way he was making it back home on his own, thankfully my moms physio recognised a person in distress and stopped to help.
  5. It used to be very common on the road too, you could not stop to take a little rest without every other cyclist asking if you need help, these day its few and far between. I can partially understand why though, security is always a concern. I mostly ask if everyone is ok when I go past, have only needed to stop a handful of times to assist though.
  6. I was not about to possibly ruin a good pair of shoe laces,
  7. I couldnt get the long nose pliers into the 11 spd chain
  8. 2.5mm thick weed eater cord also works. Whilst cleaning the bike during lockdown I remembered the shoe lace trick and the weed eater cord was all I had at my disposal, there is now a 300mm long piece of it in my cycling tools tool box.
  9. So after what must be about 3 or 4 weeks ABSA have finally come back and with a claim rejection as there was no incident that caused the failure. Now we need to weigh up fixing the old motor or spending the extra on a new one.
  10. legally any cash or EFT payments over a certain amount should have all the checks done, but if the buyer lies on those checks there is not much a dealership can do about it, the checks get done and reported.
  11. Stick the route into Komoot, it should give you elevation
  12. I've got a total of 300m elevation for my 33km.
  13. Anyone been to BCC lately ? what it like for an unfit novice and what are the prices ? Cant find much info on the website.
  14. Is that hands on the top of the forks position safe ? I've seen it done in a road race on a steep down hill and I made sure to steer well clear of that rider. Otherwise lekker to see the lightie enjoying himself
  15. How far do you guys commute ? Total round trip for me is 33km. Hairy I dont think I'm any threat to you or Cat-i even if you log no more commutes for the rest of the year.
  16. It does help that most of the other competitors stopped commuting. Going to see if I can get to 10th, but I'm very much a fair weather commuter, so lets see if the weather plays ball, it didnt today
  17. No I think I'm still sitting in 15th, 14th spot jumped about 60km since last week. I cant loging on the web for some reason so cant check to much detail, but the phone app has me still in 15th.
  18. I got up early and started getting ready for my commute, weather app said cloudy but no rain, looked outside and it was raining, so climbed back into bed for a few minutes then took the car to work.
  19. Done about 2 episodes of ZeroZeroZero. Its rather slow and you need to concentrate, especially with the subtitles, wife is not enjoying it though.
  20. lol, with bluetooth "unwanted gift"
  21. I was probably 200m from you working my ass off. Our dealership is at the back of those shops
  22. I still cant get rid of this annoying post nazal drip, it does result in some coughing every now and then which is rather irritating.
  23. Was actually thinking about these guys yesterday. Was at Rietvlei Zoo with the wife doing some riding, since the wife is rather unfit there was a fair amount of stopping or just pulling over to let other riders past, this generally had us off the trail, and it got me wondering about the chances of encountering a slithering creature.
  24. I wear what ever my wife buys me, I hate shopping and I hate shopping for clothing even more
  25. A regular lift of ours during primary school was a later model, i.e. the one after the split window. It had been converted into a camper. Blue and White. Slowwwww, and it had squeeky brakes so the lady used to brake, lift off, brake again, but we preferred this to the lady's brown 323 she sometimes used.
