  1. I've seen a place that sells used trailers that the Telkom guys used, they have roll up doors on the sides. Have always wanted to stop and see if its big enough to fit a bike in, would make for an awesome bike trailer.
  2. Finally got my new D5 Smart during the week, installed this weekend. What a machine. The longest part of the installation was getting the height 100% as we retrofitted to an existing base plate. The whole motor comes apart like a lego set, even the wiring is made to just clip off instead of grub screw. Setup once everything was in place was really simple, download the app, app and motor talk to each other, follow the wizard to set bump stops etc. Then setting up the remotes you hit the button on each remote, it recognises the remote, you then tell it you want all the remotes setup the same, setup what you want each button to do and boom, all done. And this motor is FAST, like very Fast. Very happy I spent the bit extra and got the latest.
  3. Its going to ruin the kids life, but you know what, he has ruined another families life, and if we keep going "oh shame its just a kid" then this irresponsibleness will continue. The sooner there are serious consequences in this country for transgressions the sooner we can start ever so slowly getting people to think first.
  4. Is it just being reported more often in Western Cape or are you guys having an extra hard time with accidents and crime related to cycling ?
  5. why did I think it was this Friday. 27/11 gives me some time to heal. Awesome.
  6. dont think broken, more fractured/cracked, or even a torn cartilage which I've had before.
  7. @Frosty How was the evening ? I couldnt make it even to spectate.
  8. no pics, first ride in a week, first ride with stuffed rib. Moderate efforts on smooth tar are fine, as soon as I start hitting zone 4 and breathing gets heavier it starts to hurt. But I'll go out tomorrow again and do an longish zone 2 ride.
  9. Also check with you local Volvo parts department.
  10. Its not as bad as a crack further down, those are painful with every movement you make as they're connected to the core muscles. Been there, done that, twice. Who said water was soft ?
  11. impact was definitely upper chest to the side, sort of just infront of the armpit. I first thought she caught the edge of the muscle and that is why it hurt so much. The pain then moved from the impact area closer to the middle of the chest. When feeling the chest there is one line of inflammation that sort of mimics the path a rib bone would take.
  12. speaking of military jets. The other day I left home, as I was getting in the car I could hear from long way off towards the north there was the sound of a jet engine. Then a minute or 2 later leaving the suburb I see the jet coming over. It was going slow, tail down and landing gear out. Since I was waiting for a red light I was able to watch it for a while. It did not look like it gain speed or altitude, the gear stayed down and it slowly banked around and headed north again. Rather strange, at first I though it may have taken off from ORT, but the fact that the gear stayed down didnt make sense. Only thing I can think of was some sort of test flight from Denel
  13. other than wheels and tyres, what other parts are we talking about that will be hard to get ?
  14. I guess this can go here. My 5 year old has a habbit of doing a full on swan dive onto me whilst I'm sitting on the couch. All very cool and most of the times I get the sensitive body parts out of the way before she lands. About a week or so back during one of these dives she went head first into the side of the chest. It hurt like hell, but I thought she had just bruised it. Move along a couple of days and my chest is still sore and I cant sleep on that side. Feeling the chest and you can feel some swelling along the one rib. It over a week later, pain is still there, sometimes worse than others, I cant cough without pain, very deep breaths see it hurt. i suspect she has cracked a rib or rib cartilage.
  15. *** year to be unemployed. I'll be looking for new work soon. If anyone has any openings in the gauteng area post there here please.

    Who remembers?

First trip to Cape Town for Argus we rented a consol and played this well into the night
  17. We get product from Wurth in our workshop. I was given a tube of superglue a while back, that stuff makes what you can buy in the shops look like water. Best super glue I ever used. On the closing wounds. Similar kind of story to yours, was doing some work on our gate, stupid slip of the angle grinder and the grinding wheel hit my knuckle. Took a piece of the glove and the skin and flesh with it. Cleaned it up, put a plater on and it was still dripping blood. So cleaned it up again, super glued it closed and plaster over that. Like yours I probably should have had stitches.
  18. i mix and match. A couple of months on non stabilized floater then one month of stabilised. But finding the non stabilised is not that easy
  19. 5 year old head in full dive mode hitting 45 year old chest at just the wrong angle. First thought it was just bruised, but the last 2 days I’ve been in some pain.
  20. looks like I'm out for the first one at least, I have a suspected cracked rib. I may come and spectate though.
  21. The one I have is supposed to last 2 hours, I haven’t timed it but I don’t think I can even 1 hour out of it. Probably dud battery.
  22. it works when I use it, but have to keep the thing on charge when not in use. So most of the times its collecting dust.
