    Two new approaches either klap it next 5 days, hoping th weather holds out, which it looks like it wont or let the body recover properly and do the Versus 500 challenge next week

    Hahaha sleep in whilst you can, soon you won’t be able to. but in general my body wakes up around 4am, there is no sleeping in for me.

    Indeed I am. but it’s hot in smoketeng, so early out the door to beat the heat.

    Looks like I’m probably out. was up all night coughing, so decided to rather skip the planned 115km ride this morning. just went an bought some meds, let’s see how today and tomorrow go. That does leave a lot more to do next week if I’m feeling better.

    For my own sanity I only read a few comments. but it was the usual cyclists don’t belong on the road, to why was he so far away from the left and even one suggesting he did this deliberately to claim from RAF. Can only just shake your head.

    I see some rain predicted for my area (boksburg) too. As long as its light rain I will got out and ride. But, have picked up a stupid stuffy nose yesterday, am treating it, hopefully have caught it early enough and it will be gone by Sunday.

    and long may it continue to exist Cape Town has a habit of keeping traditions alive, think noon canon, that other new year celebration that I can remember the name of now

    you can do it alot cheaper than that with careful planning, sharing costs etc.

    I have an offer from some with Multiply that is willing to assist, but since the transaction from my side is not straight forward, just trying to figure out the logistics in getting this person their money.

    I’m reluctant to buy used because of battery issues. The only reason I’m looking for a new one is my ones battery has seen better days and I can’t seem to source a replacement battery locally.

    On a slightly related note. Last year around September / October we start hearing a Turkey near by. Some careful listening points to it coming from a retired neighbours house. hmm I think, somebody wants fresh turkey for Christmas. I didnt take her as that type, but hey, if thats what she wants to do. Anyway, Christmas passes, 2023 begins and we still hear the turkey. Eventually we ask her about it. Its her pet Turkey, she wont be eating it any time soon.

    They basically shut down Cape Town for an entire day, that cant come cheap. for me, i'll bitch about the cost, but I'll pay it anyway, it has become more than just an annual ride around cape town for me. Long may the race continue.

    another factor is that those up-country folk that can afford to do this would most likely have their kids in private schools, and the timing clashes with the school term.

    but i think, if you have the cash, then some bargains will be available to be bought

    correct, Ryder use the ATOP system. I has an issue with a new pair of Ryder road shoes where the lace would loosen on its own if pressure was applied to it i.e. pulling your foot up. Took it back to the bike shop, was expecting the ATOP system to simply be replaced, but they replaced the entire pair of shoes. That was a few years back, have done probably over 20 000km with the shoes since and no issue.
