  1. It normally is yes
  2. thats BEEG. Whats the total height ?
  3. listen they're earning big bucks and I'm earning peanuts, they're obviously doing something right, so who am I to argue.
  4. I'm not going to argue the merits of this with successful business men buying 7 figure cars from me
  5. Like I said, not clever enough to articulate is properly, but something about money in an investment earning more interest than what you're paying on the loan. A car is a deprecating "asset", the cash is better spent on something that appreciates.
  6. I'm not clever enough to articulate it, but I've heard a few times that even if you can afford to pay cash, is often times more beneficial financially to purchase on HP. The problem we have in our society, and very much so in SA, is that a car is a status symbol. People look down on you if you have not bought "the top number" (i.e. the highest spec). And all the point Jewbecca pointed out are 100%. We survived going on holiday in mk1 golfs and opel kadetts, all the bigger cars do is allow us to take more junk with that we wont use. I see people weekly looking at bakkies, they all want the 4x4 version, yet less than 1% of them do anything more than climb a pavement from time to time.
  7. and apparently Saturn will be visible to the left of the moon, also much closer to earth than normal
  8. I've actually got iOS shortcuts on my phone for some things. For instance I have a scene to turn on all the lights in the back yard. I use this when I come home in the dark or if I hear something outside. Quick and easy to swipe right on the phone and hit the "Backyard On" button.
  9. oh you're talking about bikes. oops.
  10. I've got a few of them scattered around the house, coupled with a google speaker for when I'm to lazy to open the app or want to turn something on/off outside of scheduled times. If I wasnt so poor I'd have them on every switch / outlet in the house.
  11. I enjoy dealing with them. I really should make more of an effort to go to them rather than the big chain store near me.
  12. In an effort to fine tune my geyser power usage I purchased a SONOFF POW. The idea is to monitor the usage on the current on/off schedule for a week, then run the geyser on full time for a week and compare. From there to fine tune it. Installed the unit on Friday, only to discover I bought the 16A version, so as soon as the geyser kicked in the unit would turn off due to overload. Had to go out and buy the bigger version. But I've wired the 16A one onto a 3 pin plug and have been using it to check the power usage of the bigger appliances in the house. My geyser is a 200l and from the power usage it appears to have a 4kw element. Will report back with my findings.
  13. that moose test reveals some nasty surprises. Some cars that people think are "sporty" yet cant even swerve around some cones
  14. and S60 was a Focus sedan.
  15. fortunately the Geely ownership is mainly financial support, Volvo is left to run as its own company as long as it feeds R&D back to Geely. Unlike the American ownership which nearly killed the brand and has given it an eternal stigma of rubbish resale value
  16. the swedes tend to fair better than the germans. Also helps that on the Swedes the safety features are not optional extras, so they are not left off the options list in favour of style of gadget options.
  17. only if you're 8 foot tall
  18. Saturday morning was spent servicing my moms car and my own. Climbed underneath my moms Corolla with the oil filter strap, sure you can get it on, but then there is no space to turn the thing. Manage to wedge it in such a way that I had about 3mm of movement at a time, atleast it was not on overly tight.
  19. I see on Facebook that Finish Line in Kempton is having the launch at their store on Friday
  20. that's the excuse people use for buying big cars, but as long as your car has proper active and passive safety features it will protect the occupants. In actually fact large high vehicles roll easier due to the higher centre of gravity.
  21. should be 6m but they are closer to 5.5m my wife's first generation Q5 will not fit in the garage with the towbar deployed.
  22. Every iteration of a model gets bigger. the current Honda Civic is now the size of a previous gen Honda Accord. the original Civic we got in the early 90s is smaller than our current smallest Honda. Toyota RAV4 that everyone knows, first one was not much bigger than a Suzuki Jimmy, look at them now. yet parking spaces have become tighter as more bays are squeezed into the same space, roads have remained the same width.
  23. What is your average cadence at the moment? what’s it like on the hills ? coming back from knee problems you don’t want to be grinding low cadence.
  24. What you want is to convert those inches into km/h There are calculators that will do the gear ratios into km/h. I’ve got an app called bike gear that does it on my phone.
  25. problem is I see a few cycling sites have picked up this story. Again like you say, clickbait, and its working.
