  1. apparently yes
  2. I have another solution my BIL works for an arms manufacturer in another country, his team created drones that autonomously take out ground to air missiles. A bit of reprogramming and you could have these drones following you taking out the perps.
  3. its was in celebration of their birthday
  4. It was in celebration of their birthday
  5. My many years of experience fishing amongst Hippos in the wild has taught me that they will give ample warning before charging or attacking. Make sure you dont underestimate their speed, both in water and on land. But in general if you give them space, heed their warnings, you'll be fine. Just never become complacent.
  6. I work directly under the flight path, had many many fly byes over the week or so that they were flying. Really awesome to see and hear, especially when they give it beans, the very first one to fly over shook the building, it was low,it was fast, it was loud.
  7. agreed, it would require breaking the law. but let say you're on the open road, overtaking. you're three quarters of the way past the car you're overtaking and realise you've made an error in judgement and now need to get past that slower vehicle much quicker or you face a collision with something. yes the situation should not happen. in an ideal world the vehicle you are overtaking could slow down to let you in, there also would not be a queue of cars preventing you from hitting the brakes and slotting back in behind the vehicle you are overtaking. but we dont live in an ideal world, we are humans and make mistakes, we have egos that wont let another person pass us, we are in a hurry to get to our destination because the sofa's that we are driving are not comfortable enough. perhaps a better option would be that your car is able to go speed limit + 30km/h but only for a short period and then it reverts back to only going the speed limit again.
  8. In and ideal world no laws would be broken, but until there is active policing anarchy will prevail.
  9. for getting out of a potentially dangerous situation.
  10. In certain countries, as well as with certain manufacturers, there are speed limit restrictions in place on their cars. Whilst at Volvo the uproar that we had to deal with when they restricted all their vehicle to 180 was just stupid. If I'm not mistaken India has a max speed restriction on their cars, I know some of them that we source from India are restricted to 150 even though they are capable of going faster. Restricting to the speed limit of the road you're on could be dangerous though. I actually had a bit of an argument with a shopper on our floor a few weeks back, he was complaining about the small motors in our cars and how its so unsafe because you cant overtake 2 or 3 trucks at the same time, I asked him why he was in such a hurry, he should just slow down and be a bit more patient, he did not like that at all.
  11. The problem with going vigilante on these perps is that it escalates, and before we know it they are shooting first and asking for your bike later
  12. I did enquiries via their websites, but you're probably right, the enquiry would have generated an email that went to the assigned person. you'd think I'd know this, I dont phone clients before 10am on a monday because I know what a typical monday morning would look like. Although a few of those enquiries were also made on monday mid day, I would have hoped those would be dealt with.
  13. you can have all the rules you want, but unless Johnny CheatAlot checks the e-bike box on entering, or you have expensive and slow checking of each bike at the start, policing the rules is very difficult.
  14. Not sure if its the time of year and all these guys are busy, or my very small quantity that I'm looking for, or the fact that most of these guys are based in Cape Town, but I've sent 5 requests out on Sunday, received 1 quote so far, and if it wasnt for Vye being on this forum they wouldnt have known that I made a request that got lost in the system. Yes I've left it late, so I'm also to blame, but time is running out.
