  1. Loved the personal touch from the Seamstress
  2. Received my gloves and Gilet from Vye yesterday. Looking forward to trying them out.
  3. we are no longer people of twitter, we are X Men
  4. Kremetart is on my to do list, decided to do this one as logistically is every so slightly easier for now.
  5. yes. @ R250 Also shower facilities at the end which is nice. Disappointed that the meal at the finish is not included, and you have to pre-order if you want it. Looking forward to this.
  6. just entered, hopefully will have the fitness
  7. I must check, I still have the box somewhere, but pretty sure the tape on the bike now was Ryder. Been happy with it thus far. I'm going for a follow up bike fit with Richard on monday, so will browse the selection they have in store.
  8. Thanks, that Rapide tape looks good from the pics, would like to feel it though. Brilliant price too.
  9. My bar tape has been on for a while, a long while actually. It's time for a refresh. Currently have it double wrapped, but I dont really think I need it double wrapped. What suggestions for decent tape under R500 ? I was looking at tape the other day and its not hard to spend over 1000 on bar tape, I just done believe the marginal improvement over tape at half the price is worth it for my needs.
  10. I'm sure just about everyone that has been involved in remote support has done something similar, I know its happened to me a good few times. But never as big as dropping connection to a satellite. I hear though that communication has been re-established. They did not mention how on the news reports I heard.
  11. Old post, sorry, but thought I'd add to this. A few weeks back a group from Edenglen caught up to me on my Sunday ride so I joined them for a short while. Super friendly guys, rode in a nice safe manner. I really enjoyed the ride with them.
  12. you go bankrupt The charges for every additional kg of luggage are astronomical
  13. but surely if you're an established event (lets define established as having held the event 3 or more times), you then know that certain SPs need a deposit, so you work that in and hold onto that deposit from the previous years event. For me, the early bird entry means the event knows they have x amount of definite entries up front. The clever stats guys will then go x + (something times x for late entries) = total number of entries. and they can plan accordingly. But if everyone is a late entry it makes planning very very difficult. Thus the reason for early bird entries. But 50 weeks in advance does seem a bit excessive. (although I normally do enter CTCT as soon as entries open, but that is out of habit from when you had to)
  14. a suggestion based from my side Why dont CSA have a league entry fee that gets you into these 6 races at a discounted cost vs entering them individually. The cost saving plus earning league points from the races may increase appeal a little more. more people entering means more funds to the league which can then grow by adding more appeal.
  15. we were also out there yesterday, but in the car. That wind must have been fun also made me realise just how hardcore the ride we did a few months back out there was
  16. They're the ones with the bridge over the entrance stopping tall people from entering or exiting the area.
  17. I'm a little different, things happen, stuff slips through QC etc. Its how the after sales service is handled that counts. Obviously there are exceptions
  18. Our bikes guys sell many bikes to folks taking it them over the border, most times the bike are sold still in their crates as its easier for them to be transported over.
  19. And I have my grubby paws on 2 new tyres. Great service by ECC.
  20. posts topic on BikeHub, expects it to stay on topic
  21. I've never had a problem dealing directly, but I know many others have. Same can be said for the insurer I'm with, in 20 years with them I've not had issues, I know many that have not either, but I also know that many have had issues with them.
  22. back in the early 2000s I was insured with them and had an issue with them charging my double excess, after I got that resolved and they had the car fixed I immediately moved insurance. Once bitten twice shy. Unfortunately you only find out how crap your insurer is when it comes time to claim.
  23. I also read another report that said a crew member that had passed away wanted their ashes scattered there, and that is why it was there.
  24. just check my policy This clause says I'm covered THE REQUIREMENT REGARDING THE CONCEALING OF ITEMS INSIDE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT APPLY TO BICYCLES.
  25. so what exactly do they expect you to do with the bike when you are transporting it somewhere ? just about every shop/mall etc. will not allow you inside with the bike. would love to see this challenged in the courts
