  1. yes Sudocream is good for that too. Will also give the Ass Magic product a try soon.
  2. used to only use Sudocream, its good. But I bought a tub of Ass Magic at the 947 expo last year and its just that much better.
  3. My BIL used to be a flying school instructor at Grand Central. Many moons ago whilst still dating my wife we arranged a flight from GC to Sun City in a small 6 seater for her birthday. On the return leg I was co-pilot. Coming in to land at GC there was very low lying fog/mist. He brought the plane down on instruments and experience. We eventually pushed through the fog and had some visibility just before the wheels touched the ground. Was a real eye opener for me.
  4. Apparently they did and the area it’s built in does not get big weather fluctuations.
  5. would love to see what effect "pops and bangs" have.
  6. Gale’s cousin Misty came to visit this morning. Visibility down to just a few meters in places, had to be careful.
  7. Gale rolled out of bed part the way through my ride this morning. Luckily she was still cleaning the sleep out of her eyes by the time I got home, so I did not get her full attention.
  8. A few years back they built a proper go kart facility in benoni. I enquired a few times via social media if they would be open to having cyclists train there but never had any response.
  9. yeah did that a couple of times, I worked just up the road at the time in Woodmead to it was super convenient. Just wasnt as dedicated as I am now so did not take enough advantage of it.
  10. that first pic reminds me of my sisters place that they bought. Previous owner was a bit of an eccentric engineer type. Was obsessed with being 100% off grid. On the property was a separate house to be used as a guest/granny flat. double story effort situated right next to his storm water catchment pond. The wooden floor boards on the lower level felt a little bouncy, so during renovations of the main house they had the guys lift the floor boards to see what needs to be done. Turns out this dwelling is sitting ontop of what can only be described as a swimming pool. A large excavation, completely marbelited like a pool. Closer inspection of what it actually is meant to be revealed that it was an over flow for the storm water pond, allowing storage of an additional 30k litres of water.
  11. Nice one Chris. Good to see a quality SA product expanding globally. Just dont forget about us :)
  12. No ride today. Up early though, we have a display on at the East Rand Motor Show.
  13. If I took pics during my current rides they would look like this
  14. after my moms first hip replacement she carried a medical card with her incase of such situations. Never triggered anything. The second replacement they did not bother as apparently the materials used would not trigger anything.
  15. We've chatted before Zebra. I'm at Honda. But i dont sell bikes, the guys on the otherside of the showroom do though.
  16. apparently they are hijacking the scooters now too. But I suspect this is more as a means of gaining entry into premises whilst posing as a MrD. I personally would not mind doing deliveries on the bicycle to supplement income
  17. I know we supply the bikes with top boxes unbranded to the people buying them. I'm assuming they are registered with MrD as preferred bike renters and then the bikes are branded. I have a mate that has a fleet of tuctucs. Last I recall the majority were used for Takealot (who owns MrD) . They would supply drivers etc. , he supplied the vehicles.
  18. not really. Most of the MrD motor bikes are owned by other people, who then contract to MrD and rent the bikes to the riders. These owners will buy 5-10 bikes at a time, kit them out and then rent them to the riders. Not sure how they get the riders, if they come via Mr D or go direct. But from what I'm told they are earning around 4k per week doing deliveries.
  19. Good question. Have also thought that it would be a good idea. I know someone on here tried doing his own bicycle courier type thing at one stage.
  20. The ad doesnt exactly tell you what you're buying either
  21. I think a micro dot type system might be a better way of tracking the parts and possibly where they end up. It could potentially enable one to back track to the supplier of stolen parts.
  22. I used to mistakingly think it stood on the bottom spokes, but after seeing "shoelace" spokes in action it makes sense to me that it hangs from the top spokes. ** did not listen to podcast **
  23. My rear tyre has been running a tube for nearly a year now because of a cut in the tyre that wont seal. Maybe its in my head, but I feel like even though I pump it to the same pressure as without the tube, the ride feels harder, and I'm sure there is more rolling resistance. Front tyre might be getting a tube soon to. A couple of weeks back I hit something on the road in the dark, it really jolted me on the bike. Did not see anything wrong with the tyre after the ride, but with the bike hanging in the garage for a week whilst I was ill, when I looked at the tyre over the weekend there is a light cut on the sidewall and a small amount of sealant was visible. I'll have to wait for my SARS rebate to buy 2 new tyres soon.
  24. I have ideas, they are neither legal or humane
  25. even tyre batch specific. First set of Pirellis on my giant rims went on and off easy, although I needed a compressor to seat them. Current set breaks tyre levers.
