It was a nasty crash, i managed to get through it without too much trouble, but the sound of that Cervelo breaking.......... broke my heart, what a waste of a beautiful bike......
[ The altitude problem is way overstated. Well when i go up to JHB my chest always seems like it's on fire, and my work rate(HR) is always higher......
Does anyone know the ascent in metres on this race - old route will do, you don't need to get down to Maxwell Rd with a theodolite to check the last km! Worry about the altitude, you'll know when it's effecting you, a nice burning sensation coming from your lungs, and that dead feeling in your legs.... enjoy
[ They did. It was called "Cycle Safe". It lasted just as long as what the stickers did. Jip i put a sticker on my car and after the first wash it was gone, the new BEN tops are quite good, they are in yellow, and on the back it says Cycle Safe with an arrow indicating 1.5m.
I would stay away from Shimano gear, go for campag if you want your gear to last, shimano wears out campy wears in, with regards to pedals i'm using time which is lite and is squeak free, campy will cost you more but it's worth it, my wife is still using her Chorus group which has been going for six years now, and it has given no problems....
