  1. Heard the same thing. My LBS has been trying to get them in for a while with plenty customers wanting them but Omnico apparently won't give in due to there being a big dealer in the ''area''.
  2. Mix of all the routes pretty much, don't ever just stick on one route.
  3. So blessed to get to call it my training ground. So many different trails to choose from.
  4. Try these guys: https://www.bmxdirect.net/. Used to be the best in the business when I used to ride BMX.
  5. Barzo in 2.25 is 750g (Claimed) Mezcal in 2.25 is 690g (Claimed) Didn't actually weigh them. I'd rather have a few extra grams of weight than stopping and plugging or DNF.
  6. Ended up going the Barzo (F) Mezcal ® and haven't looked back. That Barzo is something else compared to the Ardent Race or Ikon and seems to roll decently as well!
  7. I bought mine from overseas with the crank included. Worked out waaaay cheaper than buying locally as I had a friend who could send it over for me. But I think Evobikes or Bikeaddict have.
  8. Yip, only make road power meter pedals, think it wouldn’t be accurate on MTB trails with all the bouncing around etc. If you running an XX1 Crankset your only two options would be a stages or a Quarq spider. All other options would require you changing your Crankset. Having a power meter that could be used on both bikes isn’t really possible. I had a stages on my bike and it worked well but have since upgraded to a XX1 Crank with a quarq and i couldn’t be happier.
  9. Early birthday present from me, to me. New drivetrain and a quarq.
  10. Correct. It’s just a different chainring offset for boost frames so obtain a better chain line.
  11. Can imagine the traction must be great with that combo but I’m racing XC. So, far too much Tyre, far too much weight and far too much rolling resistance for me. Thanks for the response though!
  12. Working 100%. Its a left unit on top of the bar though.
  13. I've got a dual I wouldn't mind swapping for a single under-bar left lever as I only use it for my fork.
  14. So my tyres are nearing the end of their life. Currently running Maxxis Ardent Race 2.3 on front (24mm internal rim) and Maxxis Ikon 2.2 on back (27mm internal rim). Have quite enjoyed the combination but I feel the ikon is lacking a bit of traction so interested in trying a different combination. Have been looking at the Vittoria range but a bit confused with what combination will be similar to what I currently have. I have read that the Barzo/Saguaro combination works quite well but then I have seen that the mezcal is even faster rolling so wouldn’t that be a better rear? Quite hard to find any reviews on the net because I think they have changed the tread pattern so often.
  15. New Nextie Carbon rim and finally got to fit my Eagle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Finally all my stuff from Nextie arrived after customs thought it was a fun idea to detain my shipment and process it twice. Rim: Great quality, looks super nice and it’s super light. Taking it out for its first ride today. If you in the market for a carbon rim, definitely give Nextie a look! Brian from Nextie is super helpful. Seatpost: great quality as well and looks good. Easy to set up. Here’s some pictures below. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Does the 15% off not apply to samples? Keen on getting cages as well..
  18. My partial Chinese Carbon experience (will update when items arrive): Placed an order with Nextie: a rim and then later added a seatpost to my order. I used Aramex Global shopper to get it here. Anyway, my stuff is about to be delivered and then I get a notification to say I have another shipment coming in. Confused?? I emailed ‘Brian’ to find out why there’s a second shipment and he responded stating that they couldn’t get the seatpost ready on time and didn’t want to delay my order so sent it in a different package once completed and told that I must send him the invoice for shipping and he will reimburse me. Top class customer service by Nextie, definitely going to be ordering more products from them if they are as good quality as promised, which I’m sure they are. Will update when items arrive with some snaps.
  19. Haven’t tried this yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Utilise Aramex Global Shopper. Also ask the shop to write you a different invoice for import reasons
  21. Will give them a call! Thanks
  22. Resurrecting an old thread..... Just ordered myself a carboon hoop and spokes to lace to a spare hub I have. So now the next task, find a decent wheel builder in Durban... Have seen plenty offered from JHB & CT but the costs of getting everything there and back would hurt the bank. Any suggestions? Are any of these guys above still in operation ? Thanks!
  23. Looking for a carbon rim and have 2 questions: 1. What are the better Chinese Carbon companies? I have seen light bicycle and Nextie but what are the others that I should look at ? 2. Would running an asymmetrical rim on the back with a boost hub be a bad idea if the front is still a regular rim? (Upgrading one at a time - budget)
  24. Also have this question. There is a way to have the European VAT deducted if you can prove that SA is the end destination but Bike24.com weren't interested when I inquired about this with them. Would love to find a way around it as SAPO can prove extremely untrustworthy and Bike24 do not offer DHL all the way through.
