  1. Been great five episodes in!!
  2. The lack of sense of responsibility in races amazes me. I was just behind your friend. A guy on his left just rode across his line to try a follow a possible break WTF!! He rode into his front wheel/handlebars - so there was only one way to go. This was at the sharp end of the race, one would think these riders know what they are doing!!! Also riding pace-line into the wind/crosswind, very few people understood what to do yesterday.
  3. Windy, as always. Liked the new route. Road quality is getting worse every year. Results seems a bit of a mess.
  4. Seems the typical Meals on Wheels weather arrived this morning. Eish!!
  5. You riding??? Good luck!!!
  6. They'll probably wear something random...... I'll look like a Red Train team member of 2016.
  7. See we might get some rain :-(
  8. There's only one batch bru - Elite. Take your HTFU pilletjies the evening before :-)
  9. Then you're not doing it fast enough!!
  10. See you there These "smaller type" races are perfect prep to be razor sharp for the larger ones!!
  11. There is nothing quite like it. Sleek & super sexy!!
  12. Whoever came up with that PR/marketing slogan should be shot.
  13. So I assume he then makes the salad in the kitchen? Any hot wives floating around? Perhaps he's just cunning....
  14. Easy peasy to get there from Benoni. Great racing and super value for money. This is by far the cheapest way for some S&M play. This racing hurts.
  15. Another Jock completed. My 1st in a registered bunch, so the suffering was expected. Did better than expected after no high intensity training in many months. My opinion on the race organisation progress since 2014 - when I last competed. Registration was a breeze, but I was surprised about how few people were around. The much talked about price/ASG influence? The breakfast after stage 1 was much better than I can remember - we used the school dining hall, and the breakfast was basic, but good, more than enough for everyone. The lunch at Sabie was also better than in 2014 - there were tables in the shade for the riders. Lunch was good and I appreciated the dessert (ice cream & fruit salad) The route - no complaints there!!! The race is still expensive, but the shift towards rider comfort and good service was appreciated. See you next year!!
  16. Pure retro porn!!!
  17. Marketing trick, trying to get us to "panic buy"
  18. Less wind this year. Last year these was a slight breeze (SW), which helped with return leg being a "drag" back to Emperors'
  19. Fleche Oosrand. Everyone is waiting for the Mur de Jones :-)
  20. I rode VB last year, and we were cruising for a 2:15, so this year seem pedestrian at 2:25. I think VC rode a 2:20 last year. We had zero interference from the tandems.
  21. A good day out in VC. Pace much slower than expected. Nobody getting away, despite many efforts. A near windless day, which I was happy with since I've been on a hard training block for the Sani. Legs were not the freshest. A mad but safe dash for the line.
  22. Actually not perpendicular. The photo was taken from the pass, downhill towards PA. White dot is a sign post of sorts. Still short enough to hop the bike onto the shoulder!!
  23. Descent into PA. If I remember correctly about 5km from the tar. The road was on the left. One can see the remains of the shoulder in the middle.. That section is about 300m long
  24. Eish, just saw pics on PB. The pass is in a bad state (the bottom few km on the PA side). Pass closed for traffic. This has now turned into a MTB race.
