  1. I tie my battery to my seat post and run the cable around the top tube
  2. Make sure that Glonass is activated on both devices. It should give a more accurate reading for your rides. It does however use a little more battery though.
  3. How did you release the bike without payment? did he sent you Proof of Payment via eft and then you discovered nothing was in your account? if so, you can report it to the police as fraud and proceed criminally. Once the police has located him and charge him. The prosecutor can give you his details and then you can proceed with a civil claim accordingly to recover your money. If you need an attorney in Cape Town, I am more than willing to assist. I do civil and criminal litigation
  4. I recently got a new pair of Carbon MTB Shoes. I don't think I am feeling the pain that you feeling, but I can feel that there is a lot more strain on my Achilles after a ride. I noticed that in order to tie my shoes tighter, I push my feet all the way to the back and that, together with the tight shoes causes the strain. Maybe try loosening your shoes a notch?
  5. Apologies, this is for the SI Crank!!! So no Shimano crank needed. I have a 2x crank at home. But now I'm going to upgrade my wife's bike with that crank. It is preferential to my style of riding. I prefer spinning a good cadence for climbs, especially the very long climbs. Furthermore, I have reached a level of fitness where I am starting to do marathon races. Recently did the Trail Seeker Grabouw. Didn't have an issue with the 1x drivetrain through the 73km's, despite it being muddy AF! I do have the strength, fitness and endurance for a 1x drivetrain. However, for me, the further I was riding into the race, the less I wanted to grind and the more I wanted to spin. I feel I can conserve far more energy and ride harder throughout the whole race with a 2x11. Regarding the weight and shiftting hassles, same is negligible.
  6. Found out that you can use the crank arms and get the "spider" that attaches to the arms with 2 rings for approx +/- R1800 - R2000. With front deraileur and shifter it works out to about R3500.
  7. Hi Hubbers Due to the offset on the above bike, whether crank and/or wheels, are the Shimano 2x cranks (XT / XTR) compatible with the above bike? Does anyone have anything other than the 2x Cannondale Si, BB30, 36/26 CNC Rings that comes off the Si4? It seems the issue is that the crank might hit the rear chain stays due to the offset. Thanks in advanced.
  8. Anyone know where you can purchase these sunglasses? Difficult to find retailers who stock them, besides cwc.
  9. If you have a MTB, nothing wrong with using mtb shoes and pedals on a road bike.
  10. I also was advised by someone that the Spez Suspension was too firm and gave a hard ride. This is the reason why the SI3 is a good option! replacing parts, especially drive train, is cheaper.
  11. Has anyone had cosmetic damage after transport? Is it necessary to get a carbon frame protector? https://www.thule.com/en/za/bike-rack/roof-bike-rack-accessories/thule-carbon-frame-protector-_-984000
  12. What is the tyre width limit on this wall mount? Can it hold a Maxxis ikon 2.35 tyre?
  13. It's not a waste of your time, the prosecutor will deal with the matter on your behalf. You will only be called in at a stage once the investigation is done to possibly attempt to mediate the matter. Unless you advise the prosecutor that you won't mediate the matter and they must proceed to trial, where you will testify to the events that occurred on the day. Proceed for our fellow cyclists and road users, the court will make an example of this individual and hopefully prevent other drivers from conducting themselves in a reckless manner on the roads.
