  1. LIMIT SCREW!!! The chain should never fall off on that side. Set the limit screw so that it can't shift that far out. The chain catcher only helps when it falls to the frame side of the crank, not the outside. Obviously...
  2. Where can I get one of these neat little plastic things? I want one. I also drop a chain now and then. Normally at the worst of times as well. Chain length is fine and so is limit screws. But the chain just seems to like hopping all the way down on my compact. I never dropped my chain on the 53/39 but now on the 50/34 it happens now and then. Woofie, did you lower the front deraileur to fit the compact crank better? If not, it could compound the problem. That and oviously shortening your chain so that the chain remains under tension when you shift with the compact.
  3. Uhhhhm, isn't PPA doing this already?
ModelID=24167
  5. Breath, slow down and better stil, sit down. Sorry, Thys you are unfortunately going to feel a bit deflated and I don't want to burst your bubble, but the Hindenbike is still just a dream...
  6. LOL! Yes indeed, that is a stock standard Canyon frame (even with Canyon cable frame protectors!). They just stuck a valve (Schrader of all things...) on the top tube. If they ever did that I am pretty sure they would not stick a valve on the top tube. Pretty good story though. VERY believeable. Put away your wallets boys, it's still just a joke.
  7. Back on the MTB are we?! You'll have to fight OJ for the chairmanship. He's nicked your place ;-)
  8. Thanks guys, I thought so too. I'll ask them to only replace the chain and cassette. Perfect time though to order the compact crank I want...
  9. Yip, cassette and chain too. This I can live with, but the big blade??? Man, on my other bikes I've been running the same blades for years and no problem even though I've mothered countless cassettes. Never trust a bike shop that has 'cheap' service rates. There aint no such thing.
  10. OK, so I grind the big gear a bit, but my bike is less than a year old and the bike shop just phoned to let me know I need a new 53 blade (and possibly the small chainring too!). How is it possible that it could have worn that much in such a short time? I had no shifting problems! I am slightly suspicious.... Anyone else have this happen to them? SRAM Force ring if anyone is interested.
  11. I wonder if he is related to the guy who was second in the World Masters 10k running Champs last year in Aus? Hmmmmm. Still up to his old tricks M30-34 1 30501 CAMERON ARNOLD 00:34:32 Australia 2 30529 JAGO LISS 00:34:44 Germany 3 30525 MICHAEL HENNESSY 00:34:59 Australia 4 30554 SIMON WHITE 00:36:46 Australia 5 30506 GILLES BROUILLAUD 00:37:17 New Caledonia
  12. I remember Hagar handing out black ribbons at the registration of Die Burger (I think) a coule of years ago after a bad accident. Looks like nothing has changed...
  13. I have a Thule hanging rack and it is much more secure than my old Holdfast clanger. My carbon bike sits secure and no bobbing or shaking and I was pleasantly surprised how secure it is.
  14. We really need just one thread for this... Victory for RH in spain

    Is it still called pretoria???
  16. Robbieeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Well done boet! Great win! Sky beaten again
  17. Selfde plek as die ratte!
  18. Don't use anything new at the Argus. Best thing is to use what you've always used. Just eat and drink as usual. Take in carb drinks to make sure you maintain energy and hydration. Wonder potions are not worth it!!!
  19. I have Shimano on my old bike (no my training bike) and Force on my new bike, which means I can just swop out my PT-wheel when I switch over from one bike to the other as the clusters are compatible. If I had bought Campy I would not have been able to just switch wheels between bikes. That's why I opted for SRAM BTW, is a Ferrari really the right image for Campy? I mean it's not like Ferraris have no electronic bits in them and too many gears is it????
  20. The problem I have with the vette and the Viper is that they are no real supercars, more musclecars. They look good in a straight line only! The GT says 'style' to those who know and has performace to match. A bit like SRAM.
