I don't think the race was too bad. Especially considering the entry fee. Not often you will get a 2 day race for R350. That grass at the end of day 1 and the river crossing would be my only 2 complaints. Day 2 was definitely a lot better doing that section in reverse. After the grass, there were some nice riding.

For sure. You need a serious sense of humor for the last 10 km. That grass is bound to be a serious pain with the amount of rain we have had. I really hope they don't take us home the same way as last year.

For those who haven't done this race before, save a bit for that climb at the 55km mark. If you don't, it will make the last 20km extremely unpleasant. I doesn't seem too bad on the profile, but it will hurt many people on Saturday.

I have the buzz rack for 4 bicycles. Have had 4 bikes of various sizes on it plenty. Works pretty well.

Those guys are exceptional at the moment and pretty consistent, but Kevin and Max both just have something special that many local pros seem to lack at times. So I recon they will be right up there. I doubt Max would sign up for something like this if he was unsure about his form.

So exact same thing has just happened to me. I have 4 bike buzz rack that I had on my Mazda drifter in December, received a nice bill for a class B vehicle. Has anyone had any joy trying to sort this kind of thing out with our fiends at SANRAL?

I have a pair of these that I use mostly as training shoes these days. They have lasted incredibly well. I have had mine for close on 4 years now. Ok they are really coming towards the end of their life span now, but for me, there is nothing that can touch them in that price range. Great shoes and extremely comfortable.

Exactly! But I do think both parties, the riders and the land owner, Avianto in this case must be reasonable when looking at fees. Especially multi access or per annum fees.

Not sure about Giba, from the web site it seems pretty small. Routes ranging from 5 - 12 km. Holla is a different story. They have 340 km. But a large portion of that is farm roads.

I am not sure R500 per annum is realistic. If you look at a place like Holla trails they charge R 1500 per annum. Ok they do have a lot more trails. Giba is R840p/a. So I recon maybe closer to R800 - R900 will be more realistic.

Richard have you guys looked at maybe introducing a season/Monthly pass for people that ride regularly? Or even a discounted rate like Northern farms does with the multi entry cards. Or is the plan to leave it as is?
