  1. Cadel looks pretty strong this year. Great effort riding Porte off his wheel the way he did.
  2. Must depend on the model as I have a Medium 329 Momsen as a training bike and it's setup is very close to my Spez.
  3. I would also say Medium, Small will be too small for you, I am 1.74 and a medium is perfect for me.
  4. Yip, thats a serious comeback performance from Kevin. I still recon he is by far the best Fedgroup has got. How is Erik coming in in 5th. He is in seriously good form at the moment.
  5. Also have the 2013 model. Its an AWESOME bike. At this stage, wouldn't buy anything else. No way you can go wrong with that bike.

    Argus MTB

They did the same thing 2 years ago. Entries eventually only opened first week in Feb.
  7. Mine is within 10 seconds as well.
  8. 2:20 sounds about right for getting off the N14. You can do it in less but then you need to have something left in the tank and probably be in a group for some part of Summit road. That last bit can hurt real bad if you are left with too much to do.

    Berg and Bush 2013

Good point, but on the flip side, organisers are toning down event like Berg and Bush in order to cater for this.

    Berg and Bush 2013

Have to agree. Unfortunately technical routes and loose rocks doesnt appeal to the masses.

    Argus 2014

    .
  12. I need to start doing more road races. Only doing 94.7 every year and the occational Argus has messed me up 2 years in a row now.
  13. You will have to request a re-seed after the Jacaranda. And of cause pay extra for it.
  14. I did a 2:55 from E last year. Still in E this year. Was hoping for a D seeding.
  15. This is NOT a technical race at all. The climb in the middle you probably wont ride in anycase as there will be traffic and plenty walkers. The decent is rocky but VERY much ridable. In my opinion this is the best part of the race. You might encounter soft sand in some of the single track, this will be tricky and a pain. The rest is all just hard work as there is not much place to recover. The corregated roads just drains you like crazy. It is a hard race but not technical. Fatigue from the non stop working and heat is the big issue.
  16. Awesome, Thanks Mike
  17. So when will the results be on the website? Still nothing.
  18. Same here. Thats an insane amount for that venue.
  19. Sundays race has always been a half marathon. Saturdays race is the ultra, but if you miss the cutoff at the big/only climb and have to take the "chicken run" it is classified as a marathon as far as I know.
  20. I was pretty worried about this one last year. This year I recon if I manage to survive 3 Towers it should be a nice ride. Still in 2 minds if I am going to ride it or not.
  21. If you want to ride a 29er in your MTB events, buy a 29er. If you want to do more road event, by a road bike. If not, stick with the 26.
  22. Let me know if you see one in the classifieds. My training up to now hasnt gotten me close yet, so maybe a sub 3 bike will do the trick.
  23. Give Ebin at Westrand cycles a call. They have dedicated Specialized test bikes that you can book. 011 955 4342.
  24. Have to wonder whats the real reason for this complaint. Seems like there are more behind this moan session!
  25. I am waiting for one of those "sub3" Argus bikes to be listed. Its all in the bike hey!!
