  1. The crack is on the right chainstay. You can see that from the way the cables are routed.
  2. Nope' date=' XX doesn't come out in gripshift[/quote'] Ok well I think he did before he was on XX... I have the best of both worlds; grip shift on the left (which allows you to trim the front derailleur, and doesn't cause blisters because the shifting is less frequent) and triggers on the right. I disagree with JB's assertion about the cable pull ratio. I think there is something to Sram's 1:1 ratio, and I have had much more reliable shifting since I changed to Sram on the MTB. Bored girl has experienced the same thing. Besides shifter, rear derailleur combination, I run Shimano FD, wheels, cranks and brakes, so I am by no means a Sram die hard - just like the product that works best. I sometimes wonder if Shimano regrets its ratios. Even on the road groupsets, Sram and Campy pull considerably more cable per click than Shimano.
  3. I hope not; I haven't laughed so much in one day for a long time.
  4. To try and be serious about this topic for a minute: I don't think that sanction is what's required here. Nobody in their right mind takes a dump in the road. Therefore, somebody needs to ensure the oke gets proper treatment. Perhaps a responsible teammate could ensure he sees a shrink?
  5. You're not alone, Muxie. This thread has had me giggling all day; I just can't believe anyone would be so brazen as to take a tar k#k

  7. Is it the same guy who drives a blue Subaru? I think we are getting close to solving this mystery.
  8. He might not have finished but he certainly left his mark on the race
  9. Here are the results: http://www.cyclingchamps.co.za/road-results/97-vet-men-45-49-road-results
  10. ? This guy took a dump on the tar infront of other people. I dont think he gets ashamed easily.
  11. Isn't there a greater chance of chewing your cassette body with this cassette? I have also noticed how noisy they are, not by riding them myself, but by riding behind those that do. It was my guess that the noise came from the chain rubbing on the steel in between the cogs - is that not a possibility, given the design? Never mind the noise and your other concern, my major worry would be the price .
  12. Just got back from shlaapstad, and while alternating between the Hub and my new Tread mag i have stumbled upon another bottle cage mystery... On page 88 there is a lekker picture of Burry pushing his bike up one of the murderous attakwas hills. In the background he is being chased by eventual winner Kevin Evans, who is still riding. Burry's two cages are empty! What did the man do with his bottles? This is even more perplexing than the damaged down tubes
  13. Don't let the PE okes read this thread... You wouldn't believe we're in the same country...
  14. And what's the harm in that? If this was a problem, wouldn't there be a need for one on the drive side too?
  15. Thanks Spinnekop, took the wheels to JB and it turns out the spokes are not quite as exotic as Campy would like you to think. He was able to modify some normal spokes and I have been riding happily ever since. I love Campy, but the spare parts prices from the local agents make my stomach turn
  16. I'm very interested to hear how OomH sharpens his cable cutters...
  17. I have cut many a cable and cable outer with my BBB cable cutters (without once sharpening them, OomH will be horrified to hear). The blades are still fine, but the plastic handles came loose this weekend, making the job a bit more awkward.
  18. I think we can expect more bullying from Sars in the future. The days of budget surpluses are over and certain chickens are coming home to roost. Government needs money to keep the people happy, not to mention the numerous hungry mouths in the President's extended family. An instruction will have been sent to Sars to turn the screws on the taxpayer. That's my cynical take on it anyway.
  19. A question for the campy experts: Due to my carelessness my Ultra Torque crankset is now missing the safety clip that fits on the drive side, as well as the wavy washer that goes on the left. There is no noticeable play in the crankset without the washer. My question is: will I be alright without these parts? What function do they actually perform?
