  2. did she have a polka dot jersey on?
  3. money is what money is but a real set of racing legs on a not R150 000 bike that can reach an end of race white line first - priceless.
  4. Mmmmmm?
  5. @ cytomax - man the wind is tooooo kstrong!!! have you seen the clouds on the mountain? (and my beer is nice and cold.) 2morrow is the day.
  6. feltrider - the amazing thing about cycling is... ride lots, race lots, your seeding will improve by itself. I was in zc. now in c.
  7. will do in the am - five thirty - out along muiz, down atlantic road, left onto prince george drive, then the se becomes a riders best friend and i go all the way to town at top speed where my car waits. A short ride i know but will be like a theshhold type thing. then sun a nice long ride.
  8. ahh. ok. shot bru. All ya w.c. riders - how this freaking wind? Insane hey?
  9. ride a black carbon frame. no decals. with full whatever but no branding. with full black kit. (but white calf length socks, of course) with 90mm deep section carbon tubs in a deep black. win the bunch or loose but always mantain a relaxed facial expresion. Style is not about a price tag; not about abilty. Kieran is right - how good can you look going slow?
  10. bump - like R.O.A.R.? in da old days of jolling. seriously waht is this bump thing?
  11. i fought only we was in da deep souf here wif our jean pant in the cape town but on da udder side of da fis hoek. like my bru ne'? I smmak where yous at Mr Preditor. Wif a passion. Genuin.
  12. Love the FDNY. Cops r cops no matter where in the world. Fire first. Safety last. Bikes before broads. Respect.
  13. i don't wave at riders on pinnerello's - especially the dogma. And even more so a pinnerello rider with a rear view mirror on the handle bar. Dammit! I want one. The pinnerello. Not the handle bar mirror.
  14. hi ya all? happy new year. was on duty last night on a 24hour shift so this first time able to get back to the hub. hey Jaco-fiets... bru you from the western cape right? so you can get the w.c. humour? or maybe not. Of course I can't afford freaking R150 000 for a freaking bike. Who the freak can? Boy oh boy...
  15. can he win a race?
  16. I would like to actually ride like a zipp 404 tubbie or an easton or a hed or a lightweight or any of the tubbies that the pro's ride just to get a realtime feel for what they actually feal like...?!? I.E. r they viable for us normal, financially not sponsered, riders.
  17. jmaccelari - r u a traffik (sic) kop (sic) ? Cuase I am a fire man. No sic fer real. And a rodie. Try tell me "bout trauma boet. Please?
  18. can the guy with the expensive bike win? a race? any race? not the human race though...
  19. its like saying thank you to your own gut feeling when something tells you not to go down a certain road, or trail, or ride earlier or later and the next day you read a newspaper report detailing a horror smash, or perhaps a fire, on the exact spot at the exact time you would have been there.
  20. last year, at the argus expo, I made the mistake of taking a Prince off its display stand to get a feel for the bike. It had not even touched rubber to ground and the stand dude - a tall guy from up country - had taken it out of my hands and placed it back in its stand. All without stopping a conversation he was having with someone standing there. Think he is from that shop that imports all the premium Italian stuff. So to prove I could actually afford one if I really wanted one, I bought a pair of Sidi gloves for R250.00. Ha, that will learn him. When I asked him if people actully buy these bikes he asked me if people actully buy ferraris? I took my overpriced gloves and buggered off.
  21. what does "bump" mean?
  22. Its actually not a national road sooo... kind of not so bad. The main road between retreat and the fish hook circle is a real test on some days.
  23. The section of blue route freeway between steenburg road and the ladies mile is actually amazingly good for riding. Totally iilegal I know; the unfortunate truth is that it actually might just be safer than the main road - Wide shoulder with yellow line. No parked cars on left so no sodz aka sudden open door zone. No traffic lights. Very few truck/taxis. Vehicle travelling at a constant speed (admtedly higher than other roads). No sideroads (but again to be honest the on/off ramps can be little hairy - your timing must be right). In summer can do intervals with South Easter one way and in winter with the north weaster the other way. Everytime I ride it (mostly on quite mid mornings) I look out for cops. If I get a ticket I will pay it and not ride there again. I see more and more riders using this piece of road - especialy during the raod works on the kalkbay section of main road.
  24. i also pump my 4000's to 8bar. super smooth and durable but do give a strange "falling away" feeling when cornering at high speed on descents. In wet weather I drop em down to 7bar and still ok. not the most expensive tyre but also not the cheapest. Best to get a good, long lasting but rel. cheaper training tyre. ANy extra weight then just means racing set up feels super light.
  25. the last time I saw "it's easier asking for forgivness than permission' was in an article circa 911 re non FDNY firefighters leaving their stations to go assist in the collapse of the towers. R u a fire fighter MJ loves MTB? firewolf2009-12-27 13:04:33
