  1. and I replaced my chain and middle chain-ring BEFORE sasol-cross I'm SUCH a chop!! The inside of my tri-top and shorts is now a nice no-longer-so-white colour Has it still being raining non-stop there though, any idea?
  2. I'm just excited to do an Xterra! Will be fun even with the mud; tho I must say I'm NOT looking forward to cleaning my bike and cleats and running shoes and kit and and and afterwards as I have only just recovered from all the cleaning after Sasol-cross!
  3. Ok so its not dangerous in the rain?? Agreed that road is much less admin!
  4. Ok ok. So was I mistaken in thinking that roadies don't ride in the rain?? Please excuse my ignorance; I have only recently made the transition to road
  5. Naught bru I don't wanna slip and die! Besides the whole point to road riding is to stay neat and clean. If I want to embrace the wet I'll get on mt mtb!!
  6. Just keen to get general thoughts on spinning vs riding on the roads; particularly when roads are wet; is 1 spinning class of 45 mins enough or should one try to squeeze in 2 classes on these days? I never work as hard in spinning as I do on the road but I figure its better than nothing...(especially if the instructor is decent) right?
  7. Ok, so 105 is better. But which bike looks cooler?? That is the big question!!
  8. Xterra full entered! Hope I don't regret this...
  9. Makes sense! Rather finish feeling SHATTERED but knowing that I did Xterra! Ok now to convince my brother that we should upgrade from the lite to the full... Think I'll go swim this ave just to convince myself that I'll be fine Thanks for the advice
  10. Powerbar Vanilla crisp or cookies and cream Alternatively PVM choc-strawberry That is all
  11. I know; the swim is the issue! I didn't feel shattered after yesterday's 600m but I'm not sure I could have swum it twice plus some extra! Trouble is that I want to wear the Xterra t-shirt with PRIDE; doing the Xterra Lite then claiming the t-shirt just doesn't feel right to me!! Also concerned for how technical the mtb will be as if its wet again AND really technical then it will be a very frustrating ride!!
  12. Not sure yet whether to de Xterra lite or full
  13. I did it in just under 2 hrs which is what I was aiming for so was happy Hoping to be a bit quicker on the run next time... and hopefully the next one I do the mtb is dry so it can be faster too!! All in all a great event though
  14. So what did we think? I loved it. My first tri and I'm definitely keen for more! Nice and muddy too!
  15. Ah yes! but it looks like its going to rain, I mean POUR NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  16. Anyone tried Stevia?
  17. Maybe he wanted to get rid of the cycle-tan?
  18. No the chamois is smaller so not bulky at all. Also apparently meant to buy them a size smaller...so they uber tight...I guess this depends how comfortable you are with that sort of vibe. 2xu also a good brand! All this said; I know that my brother will do the whole thing in boardies and just throw a t-shirt on So wear whatever you comfortable with!
  19. Can do it in tights (tri-shorts) then just throw a shirt on for run and ride?
  20. Me three!! Will be my 2nd tri. Hope the t-shirt is cool...that always makes it worth it!!
  21. Sold! will enter! You recommend the 30km or 60km??
  22. Well I'm in Sasolburg for that weekend so a, tempted to ride that! Is it a nice race to do?
  23. I'm not laughing!! My bro lives in Vaal park so I'm coming up from Durbs to do Buffelspoort Sasolcross and Xterra lite! Sasolburg is not that bad...some nice events that side to do!! Plus the roads are nice and quiet for training on
  24. Any idea how far Buffelspoort is from Sasolburg??
  25. What about buying energy bars? any idea of duties for those?
