  1. Try rush spots bars....http://www.rushbar.co.za/ might suit you better than most of the stuff out there. I'm a heavy risk of type 2 diabetes, and this stuff seems to work a treat
  2. second that. Times for every condition imagineable. Never let me down and are always consistent in performance. Used in dry sand, mud, rain, snow, jungle plants and swamps.. hell they just keep working
  3. Try talking to the South African Cotic importer. They might still have the demo Rocket frame.....serious fun
  4. really: wow tell me more. I have never heard nor seen the science behind this
  5. da. Really enjoy the Steel City Media work with Cotic. oh, and their Rocket is a **** load of fun
  6. Had exactly the same problem. Contacted DHL express, who put me through to DHL mail, who put me through somewhere else. Eventually got the SA tracking number from these guys: 0119280400 or 0119616006 Give them the DHL tracking number and they should be able to find the package and give you the new number Did need to wait on hold for a while though
  7. had suspension service by both Lance @ Epic and Andrew @ Stoke suspension. Both do a great job. either one will make things sweet again
  8. Was down there earlier today. Quite a few bikes there of various values. Inspector Van Der Watt reckons he'll have to give it all back if no-one identifies their stuff. Spread the word and lets get as many folks with stolen bikes sorted out. Although I guess with a bike having been identified, it is no longer likely that everything gets given back
  9. Hey folks Friends Surly Karate Moneky has been stolen. It is black in colour with red handlebars. Fully rigid with disc brakes. Will try to post picture asap Stolen from Cape Town city centre. Keep an eye open
  10. It was too good to be true. Detective phoned me to come check out a bike they had picked up during an arrest. So if anyone is missing a black raleigh hardtail of some sort, Detective (might be Sergeant) Adams is the man to chat to in Buitenkant police station
  11. sorry, not thinking clearly right now. Stolen from Oranjezicht, Cape Town. Between 3 and 6 this afternoon
  12. Almost exactly a year on and my bike has developed a case of "not in my garage any more" So. If anyone spots a large black Pivot Mach 4 with a black fox fork, hope wheelset, brakes, seat post and a mostly X9 drive train. Pictures to follow as soon as I can. Let me know if you see it or spot on sale somewhere supertorro@gmail.com oh severn fore nein zero 2 9005
  13. go for a spin with a few locals maybe....where you based? I'm sure some of the hubbers nearby will gladly take you for a spin through an area...
  14. On the really steep bits it should feel like your saddle is getting amorous with you....
  15. why don't you just buy a 26" on sale? with all the fools insisting on 29" in SA there are a couple of excellent bargains out there
  16. What a way to start the weekend. They (the proverbial) have stolen my Titus MotoLite 2. If anyone sees this please let me know. Drat! can't find any pics The bike was stolen from Oranjezicht Cape Town. It is an anodised black frame with a white Fox fork. The remaining trim is red. It's a bit distinctive with hope wheels and Middleburn cranks Thanks
  17. umm no that's not the point. I was riding at a speed not consistent with current conditions. Am I saying she was blameless. NO. She didn't see me/overlooked/etc. But I could also have been going at a speed more compatible with stationary traffic. Road use works both ways, gotta give and take a little. Doubt the reaction would have been different. I was more concerned with figuring out whether anything was broken. Nothing was so why make a fuss. I got a wake up call, and so did she. Good for everyone
  18. SO, last night I was cycling along beach road, at about 5pm when it's normally ....quiet. Anyway, I managed to connect a car pulling into the traffic lane from a parking space. At first I was going to call down the wrath of gods to smote this peasant who dared....but then I realised I had been going a little too quickly. As much as she overlooked me, I wasn't helping myself. If I don't give traffic enough time to adjust then it's always going to go badly. So boys and girls, don't ride like a c@#$ in the traffic. Play along nicely, else it could go very badly
  19. had a saguaro on the rear, nice and fast but no grip, especially for table mountain. am now running 2.1 Lobo Locos and they have insane amounts of grip
  20. sjoe lucky me! found the original invoice and it seems i bought the frame in September 2007, which puts me just inside the warranty period...
  21. oh that's brilliant
  22. yep that should be possible, else I may be tempted to make a solution with duct tape...
  23. So it is the end of my beloved titus motolite. She served me so well and today it all ended.....
  24. Life of Christ board game that is brilliant religion was always about power, control and making money..... but this has gone to a whole new level.
  25. So here are my efforts. One might say it's for those who prefer a more industrial look. So attempt 1 (on the right) was a copy of the housing we got from cutter electronics. I left the light running indoors at max power and the nylon covers on the end swelled from the heat and fell off... so plan B (middle) was the same thing but with al end caps. That worked okay but at this stage I burned/shorted/generally cocked up the driver so that ended that. A fourth model (missing in the clutter at home) went along the same lines but was miles too heavy. If I can find it, it could be used on my motor bike perhaps... anyway, design was going in the wrong direction at this point. so then version 0.5 is on the left and is being used (when the bicycle is in one piece). It's got 4 Cree LEDs supposedly producing somewhere around 1000 lumens. For us layman out there that really translates to f@#$@ bright. And then just so you know what the ends look like: Front Back So now the next steps will be making it a little shorter (currently about 80mm) as the heat-sinking seems to work very well whilst in use, and I could probably get away with a much shorter model. and then all in one diameter could be more aesthetically pleasing....... and then maybe I'll consider polishing and finishing. but as I said: thys's stuff is niiiiicccceeee!!
