Back in the day doing a second lap, we dont race it and when passing people we make sure that its us that gets out the way etc. Your presence should only improve the day for everyone.

100% agree with you, I think the more people on bikes the better. My folks ride with someone that uses it to make sure his heart rate does get not higher than what his doctor says it should, but he sits and rides with all his mates on the group ride, does not speed off with the faster group. The people breaking the above rules are going to ruin it for the genuine people that are using the eBike to continue doing what they love. 3.10 alone would mean 19.6% of the field broke the rules.

I mean its like the people using clip on TT bikes in an event that specifically says clip on TT bars. They just do not care about anyone else's safety besides themselves.

Nobody is angry here, just perplexed as to what would cause someone to chip their bike for the fun ride world champs. More than 10% of the eBike field must have been on illegal ebikes according to their average speeds. Is it too much to ask people to not break the law?

No one cares what time or is threatened by the eBikes. People are just worried about people doing 38km/h average while starting in 4F passing hundreds of people. There were 2 at the cycle tour that had bells and a hooter that were shouting at people to keep out the way. People are just surprised someone would use a category that was meant to allow more people to complete the cycle tour and then decide to break the law in order to race it. May as well just go drive the route in your car.

The groups are not going to be coming up 4 wide, it will be strung out after the Glen. You could get by with a single lane up signal hill. then neutral down kloof.

No reason why they cannot have 2 mass participation rides per year. Make one the big bad boy in March, then October another one, maybe it goes over Ou Kaapse, maybe it goes up signal hill?

ha ha!! That oke is now out and about!! You never really get over the sound of carbon getting run over, the shock from hitting the windscreen and then the thump as your face hits the ground. Then start crying uncontrollably as you are grateful to be alive and will see your wife and kids again, but everything is sore and then they turn around and try run you over again and your mates drag your half limp body into the veld to hide.

Please send the support cars to the Cape!! I could do with some protection in Ocean View and into Hout Bay
