  1. I found builders warehouse, cape gate, had a range of wall mounting, bike racks. The one I have, has like a basket, where I put all my goodies. If I remember correctly, it cost me about R350. HTH
  2. Hiya Just read this http://www.healthguidance.org/entry/14931/1/Quickest-Way-to-Get-Over-the-Flu.html What are your thoughts on the 'fasting idea'? Thanks Brent
  3. I actually found some more medals, of some running races I did last year. Was uber chuffed. Was packed away in a box when we moved us. I say keep and cherish your medal. Will be good to show off to the kids one day.
  4. Funny enough, I saw someone with a TT in the Argus. Interested to know how he slipped that in starting pens.
  5. Ive got the full suite, and with the above above statement, I could not agree more. Theres nothing more worse than suiting up, for your body to then tell you ... you need to pee. Get the two piece.
  6. Congrats to all that finished the ultra and half. I loved the running in the rain, until the finish, then just standing and looking for my wife, I was freezing. Only thing I didn’t like and appreciate, were all those black bags we had to jump over, at the start. Do those people honestly expect The City to now pick that up? The new route was awesome too. Great event, now for the S.A.D.
  7. Kinda glad this topic came up. Thought it was just me, that needed to clear my nose. I do make sure no one is in range when I cant any more, but its just so embarrassing. To the original poster, sorry that your wife got sprayed, it was wrong of that person to not have first checked, that no one was behind.
  8. Doing the half too, but looking forward to the safari half.
  9. I saw her.

    Argus Expo

Walked in, got my pack ... walked right out. But I had too, cause I had a baby stroller. That person that recommended the CTICC, you got me support. I.e. No stairs.
  11. Something Ive been thinking about (dont know what the legal implications are). What about that lagoon / canal by Wood Bridge Island in Milnerton.
  12. http://www.mobli.com/media/show/id/2504388 https://twitter.com/#!/lancearmstrong/status/167471381695565824 I reckon that is gonna be a big crowd puller.
  13. Ag no man.
  14. Im reminded of a movie I watch recently (My big fat Greek wedding). In the one scene the bride to be, tells her greek aunt that her future husband does not eat meat. Woman replies. "What do you mean he does not eat meat". Everyone stops and stares. Shes then replies. "Thats ok I cook lamb"
  15. Exactly. I never saw it. But I heard there were a few DQ's.
  16. I don’t know hey. I agree about the sentiment of a medal. But I’ve learnt, sometime the medals are for the loved ones. My wife proudly displays the medals, I have achieved. Me I couldn’t give a hoot. But I like my wife to be happy, and too, proud of me (You should have seen her, when I completed Ironman 70.3 this year. ). But if you don’t wont or cherish a medal, maybe think of your partner, maybe she (or he), will cherish it more than you. But thinking about it. In years to come, I would like my kids (or gran kids) to see what I was able to achieve too. I think showing and telling, is a lot more appealing and meaningful, than saying I did XYZ, and not being able to show anything for it, cause you thought the medals are cheap, and at this moment offer no satisfaction.

Apparently Ironman 70.3 for 2013 is R1725. Quite a jump. Registration is open.
  19. Ive heard of two incidents there. But what place is safe? Try and get someone to cycle with you.

Just completed my first Ironman event. Think the bug has bitten. I see registration for full Ironman is still open (I see there is discount if you spend R130 at spec savers). Question I would like to ask is, how achievable is it to be more fitter / ready in three months for the full. Ive never even ran a full marathon before. Is it something I can consider? Or should I look to trying full next year?

My gosh, but is that city dirty. A great event. Had to hold back the manly tears when crossing the line. A great feeling. Congrats and well done to all that crossed the line.
  23. Hiya I know Energy Gels have been discussed to death, but I thought this may help someone. http://triathlete-europe.competitor.com/2012/01/16/all-you-need-to-know-about-energy-gels/

I wont lie. It is actually a problem for me. And I don’t like contacts. If I cant work out where the bouy is, I basically follow the crowd (see in what direction the splashes are going), or take a short break and gather my bearings (thank God for buoyant wetsuits, cause its damn tiring). But I just rough it out.
