  2. Sadly, you have lost respect for their race / ethnicity for the behaviour of a select few individuals that have hurt you. It may be hard not to generalise and create a bias towards a racial group; always try not to. That is how hatred is born. And that only caps your humanity. This is also a message and reminder to myself as I live in a world that is so polarised and absent of compassion. You are safe, that matters most. Hope you can ride your bicycle with freedom from fear soon again.
  3. "I changed teams because Ineos doesn’t have a women’s team at the moment, and also I wanted a team who would be ready to support me. I’m 33 years old, I don’t have many years in front of me, but I want to perform at a high level and I know Visma are a good team and they were ready to have me.” The Dutch team’s double success with Jonas Vingegaard was convincing. “When you see they have won the Tour with Jonas, they know how to do it. Now it’s just a matter of hard work, and I know I am able to do the hard training sessions. You never know until you’ve done it.” -PFP (Sauce: Rouleur)
  4. Welcome, those long summer days! May your year's end, with all of its demands and rush, be interspersed with cool rides and beautiful moments in the saddle.✨
  5. The quality of your relationship determine the quality of your life.💙
  6. Very interesting and intriguing read. It's been coming on for a while, however, it will become a tool of the trade just as the caffeinated gel and 'durability training'. https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/artificial-intelligence-in-professional-cycling-what-is-the-state-of-play/ Pic: www.cyclingnews.com (AI depiction of the impact of AI on the pro peloton)

Gotta have your mental monkeys all lined up and well behaved with those conditions, hey. Phew!
  9. Out-of-office auto reply:
  10. One of the several performance memo pointers I gave to the team that I was part of. My role was to guide the team with performance DNA, culture, standards and alignment. Thank you for sharing your experience, man. Eina, eina.
  11. The other angle, @Johnny82 Can see you in the mix there at the back
  12. The lesser the challenge, the less meaningful the achievement. #CharlesMilner
  13. Lekka to meet you too, Johnny82. Thank you for the pic. 😃
  14. "The inaugural DC took place in 1993, with 385 starters. Milner remembered it fondly: “It was blisteringly hot on the day of our first race and even though I could almost see the tar melt while we rode, there was a tremendous team spirit amongst the cyclists. This same spirit is what makes the Old Mutual Wealth Double Century what it is today – a race of camaraderie and teamwork.” Sauce: https://doublecentury.co.za/about-double-century/heritage-and-history/
  15. Monday Motivation: Never let the harshness of the world turn you into a harsh human being. The world needs loving kindness. Tons of it.
  16. Thank you, peetwindhoek. I must've not heard your call in all the buzz. I am a very lucky man to have two legs, a body and a sound mind that can still be active and perform after the March incident. It took some surgery, 3 months off the bike to heal up soft tissue wounds, lots of physio, and overcoming PTSD to get back to the sport. I cried a few times behind the sunglasses, hey. With joy. With gratitude. With pride. For this Life.
  17. Being an entrepreneur is like riding a lion and wondering what day it will throw you off its back and eat you.
  18. What a privilege to roll this event after 10 years of hiatus. The South African spirit or ‘gees’ at its most beautiful best - from volunteers to the local community welcoming the cycling community, to the tired smiles of my teammates over the spitbraai supper.
  19. Health is the crown of top of well people’s head that only ill people can see.

  22. MONDAY MOTIVATION "When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking." — Arthur Conan Doyle
  23. I will call you Oom from now on, Oom.
  24. I hope you’re a woman. Because it feels like you’re flirting with me. 💋
