  1. Just a personal preference I guess.
  2. Got a set of Mavic Cosmics at home which I will use But yes those Easterns are VERY nice!!!
  3. Hi all Well it seems that the bikes in that price range of interest to me are the Specialized, Bianchi & Giant. So thanks for all the feedback, but from what I have seen here I think I am on the right path (for me anyway) It looks like I will be going with the Giant TCR ISP Campag Chorus ITM 101 bars & stem etc etc etc... Thanks All
  4. Yip, that is where I am getting the groupset from
  5. Chorus Group set for 6K - from where? But you have yet to add saddle, pedals, handle bar, stem etc etc and that stuff adds up quikly
  6. Well if thats the correct price, then like I said Out of the price range, that then throws the bike into the 45 to 50K range thats alot more than 30 - 35K
  7. How much would the Frame be???
  8. Yip if money was no option, I would be looking at a different league of bikes Pinarello Prince, Look 595, Time VXRS etc etc But I aint got Donald Trump's wallet
  9. Yip thats the one I am pretty much settled on Like I said, I just wanted to know from this thread if there was anything that I had missed while looking around numerous bike shops, and from the responses I dont think there is anything that I really missed out on. I guess in that price range it comes down to personal preferance. Some of the suggestions were also in the 40 -45k range, which is too much for me
  10. Yeah, saw that - I'm a little short for that Also specifically looking for something new at the moment
  11. Cervelo is out the price range - unless you go for their alu frame But am looking to go full carbon
  12. I have looked at the specialized But at this point in time am getting a pretty good price on the Giant ISP Frame... But that is a consideration
  13. I've considered almost all options, Not really interested in the Raleigh - nice spec on the new team bike but dont love the frame colour - and when spending that amount of $ it must be what you want Spending 10K more, and getting up to 30K is also not an option, I have managed to convince myself to spend that amount of money is worth it, so more is a no-no.
  14. Hi Everyone I am in the process of getting a new bike and just wanted to check if I have by any chance missed something, that I should possibly look at. Basically I am asking if you had +/- 30 to 35K to spend on a new road bike What would you get? Thanks in advance
  15. I wouldn't worry too much about it, its probably to build an argument for the marketing team to use when trying to attract new advertisiers etc. I.e. saying that cyclists are top LSM's as they can spend so much $ on bikes etc
  16. Saw them at Tour de Frans, awesome bikes!!! But you will need a BIG budget
  17. Where are those Campy prices from??
  18. look in the blogs
  19. so I guess wanting to know a rough price would also be out of the question?
  20. any idea when they will be available ...
  21. what make is the seatpost I once had the same problem with an Alien seatpost, only to find out they have a short life span and need to be replaced every 2 years or so?? So now I have an alu seatpost
  22. should have made the shoulders blue to match the helmut and blue lines in the kit??
  23. ya very strange was a nice surprise, so I didn't ask for the change and let him keep it as a tip ...
  24. ??? I renewed my car this morning Took about 10 minutes, paid cash and did not have to pay the additional R30
  25. Its all to often that people are complaining and never seem to say well done when it is due... So I just thought I'd let everyone know of some really great service I had from Mean Machine cycles in Germiston (George as I'm sure some of you will know) I recently had to buy a new set of wheels as I was sick of fixing mine that kept on breaking (Shimano wh550) So I got a new set of Mavics from George, at a good price and then how cool is this... 2 weeks later I get a call from him asking how they are and that I must feel free to bring them round anytime after a couple of weeks worth of riding to let him have a look at them and check that the spokes are all tensioned correctly etc etc Thanks Mil George, would rather support him and his dodgy little shop than some other fancier places any day!!!!!!!
