Not sure what route the shorter distance followed so can't comment on whether you can just half it. What other race did you enter? The gutters and drags combined were quite tough in the Engen, although the elevation might not sound that much.

They're doing a pretty good job with the seedings and the example you posted seems reasonable. I guess it becomes very difficult if you start comparing road to mtb races, but that's what you guys want so they did the best they can.

It's a business so good luck to them. I'm a credit analyst so it would be interesting to know how they are being funded, because that would have a direct bearing on whether it's feasible with the interest they're going to charge. Personally I'm against lending for things like everyday consumption.
